Grizzlies nominated in 27th Annual Midsouth Regional Emmy® Awards
MEMPHIS, November 19, 2012 – The Nashville/Midsouth Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced that the Memphis Grizzlies have been nominated in four categories for the 27th Annual Midsouth Emmy® Awards.
Grizzlies’ Director of Video Production Pat Stage, has once again been nominated for best Sports Programs/Series for “Memphis Grizzlies: Grind Forth.” Stage has also been nominated for best Promo Spot/Sports for “Made In Memphis” and for best Editor/Program for “Grind Forth” Edit Composite. These honors mark his 12th nomination and the Memphis Grizzlies’ 15th nomination overall.
SportSouth’s Hammond Reynolds, Rohan Backfisch, Tom Huet and Grizzlies Senior Vice President of Broadcasting Randy Stephens were also nominated in the category of Sports Event/Game-Live for their work on the broadcast of Memphis’ win in Game 5 over the Los Angeles Clippers in on May 11, 2011.
“Emmy nominations in four different categories are indicative of the Grizzlies’ dedication to providing fans with the best possible viewing experience,” said Stephens. “We appreciate the recognition of our peers in the broadcast industry and give thanks to everyone who plays a part in our Grizzlies productions.”
The 27th Annual Midsouth Emmy® Awards will be held on January 26, 2012 at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville. This year’s nearly 800 entries resulted in 78 nominations for television stations, production companies and independent producers. The ballots, tabulated by Jennifer Lane of Decosimo Vaden, were judged by the Chicago/Midwest Chapter, the Suncoast Chapter based in Miami and the Ohio Valley Chapter, which includes Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati.
