Grizzlies fan appreciation weekend
Xtreme Sports Night Friday; Fan Appreciation Day in Sunday’s home finale
MEMPHIS, April 7, 2011 - As the Memphis Grizzlies make their final push for the postseason, the team will pay tribute to all the members of Grizz Nation this weekend in the final two regular season home games on Friday, April 8 with a 7 p.m. tip-off against the Sacramento Kings and Sunday, April 10 against the New Orleans Hornets with a 5 p.m. start.
The Grizzlies will host Xtreme Sports Night, presented by Mountain Dew, on Friday followed on Sunday in the home finale by Fan Appreciation Day, presented by First Tennessee.
The weekend will start on Friday from 5-7 p.m. where, before seeing Memphis take on Sacramento, Grizzlies fans are invited to a Fan Fest on the Outdoor Plaza of FedExForum, where they can enjoy free Pepsi and Community Coffee, along with Grizzlies inflatables, face painters, balloon artists, musical entertainment, Grizz and Grizz Girl autographs and the chance to win fantastic prizes. As part of Xtreme Sports Night, the first 3,000 fans in attendance to see the Grizzlies take on the Kings will receive a free Grizzlies Skateboard Deck, courtesy of MTN.
Memphis will conclude their regular season home schedule Sunday in Fan Appreciation Day, presented by First Tennessee, where fans are invited back to Fan Fest from 3 p.m. until the 5 p.m. tip-off against New Orleans. Once inside, the first 5,000 fans will receive free Tony Allen T-shirts, courtesy of First Tennessee, plus Sonic Mystery Gift Cards to the first 3,000 in attendance. Fans will also have the opportunity to be randomly selected to win in-game giveaways, courtesy of Sonic, Genghis Grill, Golf and Games Family Park and Southland Park Gaming & Racing.
After the Grizzlies put the finishing touches on the home portion of their highly-successful 10th Season in Memphis, presented by Pepsi, the team will continue a time-honored tradition in which the players will give the jerseys off their backs to a group of lucky fans following their game against the Hornets. Each player will personally autograph the jersey for the winning fans as a show of their appreciation for their support during one of the most exciting and memorable seasons in franchise history.
Fans interested in purchasing tickets to this weekend’s festivities on April 8 and April 10 can get tickets at all Ticketmaster outlets, by calling 1-800-4NBA-TIX or 901-888-HOOP, by visiting the FedExForum Box Office or online at grizzlies.com.
