Grizzlies announce 2012 promotions and single game on sale date

MEMPHIS, September 19, 2012 — The Memphis Grizzlies today announced their promotional schedule for the 2012-13 regular season. Fans can purchase Single Game Tickets for these games and all other Grizzlies regular season contests up to and including Jan. 21, when the team hosts the Indiana Pacers in the 11th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration Game, on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 10 a.m.

Single Game Tickets for the Grizzlies’ four home preseason contests will go on sale Saturday, Sept. 29 at 10 a.m.

When the Grizzlies tip-off the 2012-13 regular season home slate on Nov. 5 against the Utah Jazz, they will welcome Grizz Nation back to FedExForum by giving away a Grizzlies T-shirt to the first 10,000 fans in attendance courtesy of First Tennessee Bank. First Tennessee also will encourage fans to stay on top the action throughout the 2012-13 season by presenting magnet schedules to the first 10,000 in attendance for the Nov. 9 matchup with the Houston Rockets.

Grizzlies fans will have two chances to wave their team’s colors if they are one of the first 10,000 in attendance to grab a rally flag on Nov. 16 against the New York Knicks or get a flag, presented by SportSouth, on March 23 when Memphis faces the Boston Celtics.

Beloved mascot Grizz also will be up to his usual tricks this season and will be treating the first 5,000 fans in attendance to a Super Grizz cape on Dec. 8 against the Atlanta Hawks and the first 3,000 fans to a Grizz bobble head on March 9 against the New Orleans Hornets. Grizz will be joined by some of his furry friends from around the league for Grizz’s Birthday Party on Feb. 10 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the team will celebrate by passing out Grizzlies backpacks to the first 5,000 fans.

The Grizzlies will be helping fans get ready for the holiday season with Grizzlies scarves to the first 5,000 fans on Dec. 19 against the Milwaukee Bucks and Grizzlies wrapping paper, presented by Mercury Printing, to the first 5,000 fans on Dec. 21 against the Dallas Mavericks. Mercury Printing will also help provide posters of the popular Grizz Girls, presented by Gold Strike Casino Resort, to the first 5,000 fans on Dec. 29 against the Denver Nuggets.

The team will also distribute a series of player cards presented by Mercury Printing to the first 5,000 fans on Jan. 14 against the Los Angeles Clippers and March 29 against the Houston Rockets. Mercury Printing will also provide sets of Grizzlies Valentine’s Day Cards for that special Grizzlies fan to the first 5,000 in attendance on Feb. 8 against the Golden State Warriors.

Fans also will have the chance to show off their creativity and city pride, as the Grizzlies will select fan art to produce special “Made In Memphis” T-shirts to be given to the first 5,000 in attendance on Feb. 22 against the Orlando Magic and March 20 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. More details will be made available on grizzlies.com at a later date.

The Grizzlies Go Green Expo and Tour de Grizz bike ride will highlight the team’s April 13 tilt with the Los Angeles Clippers before the giveaway schedule concludes with a Grizzlies T-shirt, presented by First Tennessee, to the first 5,000 fans in attendance for Fan Appreciation Night on April 17 against the Utah Jazz, as the team wraps up the regular season.

New this season, “Grizz Night Out,” presented by Budweiser, invites fans to grab some Buds and catch one of the following Grizzlies contests at FedExForum: Nov. 9 vs. Houston, Jan. 25 vs. Brooklyn and Feb. 27 vs. Dallas. Starting at just $25, fans will receive a Grizzlies ticket, a Grizzlies hat and a 16-ounce beer.

The chance to see great Grizzlies action for less does not stop there, as the Grizzlies will offer “2 for Tuesdays,” giving Grizzlies fans the opportunity to get two tickets for the price of one in the Terrace I, II, III and First Tennessee Club Levels while supplies last. Tuesday night games during the 2012-13 season include Dec. 4 vs. Phoenix, Feb. 5 vs. Phoenix, Feb. 12 vs. Sacramento and April 9 vs. Charlotte.

Pepsi Family Plans are back this season, with four different games to bring the entire family to a Grizzlies game. Starting at $56, families can receive four tickets, four hot dogs, four Pepsi fountain drinks and four Grizzlies rally flags for any of the following four home games: Dec. 8 vs. Atlanta, Jan. 21 for the MLK Day Celebration Game vs. Indiana, Feb. 8 vs. Golden State and March 29 vs. Houston.

Gospel Night on Feb. 22 vs. Orlando will provide fans a joyous night of basketball and music, featuring a post-game concert by gospel artist Hezekiah Walker. Check grizzlies.com for updates and post-game concert announcements throughout the 2012-13 season.

Fans also can take advantage of Group Value Games and book a group of 20 or more for special group pricing for the following games: Nov. 9 vs. Houston, Dec. 8 vs. Atlanta, Jan. 18 vs. Sacramento, Feb. 10 vs. Minnesota, March 29 vs. Houston and April 17 vs. Utah.
