Single Game Tickets Go On-Sale “Blue” Friday, Dec. 16 at 10 a.m.
MEMPHIS, December 12, 2011 — The Grizzlies announced their promotional schedule for the 2011-12 season. Fans who missed out on the post-Thanksgiving “Black Friday” fervor can tip-off their Grizzlies’ Holiday shopping season this “Blue Friday” by purchasing single game tickets for all Grizzlies contests up to and including Feb. 21 beginning this Friday, Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. Purchase tickets at the FedExForum Box Office Friday and receive a pair of tickets to the preseason game that evening when your Grizzlies host the Hornets at 7 p.m.
When the Grizzlies tip-off the 2011-12 campaign on Dec. 28 against the Oklahoma City Thunder the first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a Grizzlies headband courtesy of First Tennessee Bank. First Tennessee will also help keep fans on top of all the action this season when they present 2011-12 magnet schedules to every fan in attendance at the Grizzlies contest on Dec. 30 against the Houston Rockets.
Grizzlies fans will have two chances to wave their team’s rally flag if they are one of the first 10,000 in attendance to pick up a flag presented by SportSouth on Jan. 21 when Memphis faces the Sacramento Kings or to collect a flag presented by First Tennessee on March 13 against the Los Angeles Lakers.
This year’s promotional items will also include some new and unique blue collar giveaways that are sure to make fans walk away from FedExForum happy, starting when the team will distribute Grizzlies Hard Hats to the first 5,000 fans for the Feb. 18 tilt with the Golden State Warriors and again on March 16 against the Toronto Raptors when the first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a Grizzlies Lunch Pail. The first 5,000 fans can pick up their very own Super Grizz mascot cape and mask set on March 18 vs. Washington. Those with a green thumb can get their Seed Packet on April 7 vs. Dallas when the Grizzlies host Go Green Night presented by International Paper.
The Grizzlies will be distributing a series of player cards presented by Mercury Printing to the first 5,000 fans on Jan. 12 vs. New York, April 14 vs. Utah and April 21 vs. Portland. Mercury Printing will also be providing sets of Grizzlies Valentine’s Day Cards for that special someone to the first 5,000 fans in attendance on Feb. 10 vs. Indiana. Mercury Printing won’t stop there, as posters of the popular Grizz Girls, presented by Gold Strike Casino Resort, will be presented to the first 5,000 fans in attendance on March 3 vs. Detroit.
One of the most unique items on the promotional schedule will be given away on the first Hardwood Classics Night. Hardwood Classic Nights will feature your Grizzlies sporting Memphis Tams uniforms from the ABA (1972-74). The first 5,000 fans in attendance for the Grizzlies contest against the Jazz Feb. 12 will receive a Memphis Tams “Tam o’Shanter Hat.” Other Hardwood Classic Nights include home contests on Feb. 18 vs. Golden State, Feb. 29 vs. Dallas and March 16 vs. Toronto.
The giveaway schedule wraps up on Fan Appreciation Night on April 26 vs. Orlando, as the first 10,000 fans will receive Grizzlies Headbands, courtesy of First Tennessee, as the team wraps up the regular season.
New this season, Kroger Family Games will give families the opportunity to fill up on groceries and Grizzlies basketball, with four different games to choose. Starting at only $48, families can receive four tickets and a $20 Kroger Gift Card for any of the following four home games: Jan. 16 for the MLK Day Celebration Game vs. Chicago, Feb. 18 vs. Golden State, March 18 vs. Washington and April 14 vs. Utah.
Grizzlies Student Rush Nights are back again this season, with 2 different games to choose from, Jan. 21 vs. Sacramento and March 3 vs. Detroit, where Mid-South college students can take a break from hitting the books and hit the hardwood. For $10, students with a valid student ID day of the game will receive the best available Terrace Level ticket while supplies last and a chance to win an iPad2.
Also new this season, My Sonic Nights will give those hungry for basketball and Sonic the opportunity for both, with three different games to choose. For only $15, members of Grizz Nation can receive a Terrace Level game ticket and a free Sonic burger for any of the following three home games: Jan. 14 vs. New Orleans, Feb. 10 vs. Indiana and April 9 vs. LA Clippers.
The opportunity to see great Grizzlies action for less does not stop there, however, as the Taco Bell Saver Seats will give fans the chance to purchase tickets for only $5. Kroger Cares Games are back. Each Kroger Cares Game will see a portion of sales from group and individual game tickets go to help Memphis charities in need. Kroger Cares Games this season include: Feb. 18 vs. Golden State benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Memphis, Feb. 29 vs. Dallas benefiting MIFA and March 3 vs. Detroit benefitting the American Cancer Society.
