Grizzlies and ACH Food Companies, Inc. team up for canned food drive

Fans making a nonperishable food or cash donation at Grizzlies vs. Knicks game on November 16 will receive a “buy-one-get-one” ticket voucher for a future matchup.

MEMPHIS, November 9, 2012 – The Memphis Grizzlies and ACH Food Companies, Inc. are teaming up for the Grizzlies Canned Food Drive to benefit the Mid-South Food Bank as the team takes on the New York Knicks on Friday, November 16 at 8:30 p.m.

All canned food items will be accepted at FedExForum and will be donated to the Mid-South Food Bank to prepare for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. Fans making a nonperishable food or cash donation will receive a “buy-one-get-one” ticket voucher to their choice of either the Grizzlies’ contest against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, November 26, the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday, November 28 or the Detroit Pistons on Friday, November 30, courtesy of ACH Food Companies.

Fans who want to attend the game and donate to the Mid-South Food Bank should arrive early and take advantage of what is sure to be an exciting night at FedExForum. The first 10,000 fans who arrive will receive a Grizzlies Rally Flag.

The Mid-South Food Bank serves charitable agencies that feed hungry and needy people in West Tennessee, East Arkansas and North Mississippi. Founded in 1981 as the only organization in the region to supply food to all qualified charitable organizations, the Mid-South Food Bank supplies millions of pounds of food to emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, youth and senior programs, daycares and rehabilitation programs.
