Grizzlies to host 2013 Training Camp in Nashville from Oct. 1-5

Media Day to Take Place at FedExForum on Monday, Sept. 30 from
10 a.m.-1 p.m.; Open Practice at the Ensworth School in Nashville
on Saturday, Oct. 5 from Noon-2 p.m.

MEMPHIS, September 6, 2013 – The Memphis Grizzlies announced today that they will hold training camp at the Memorial Gym on the campus of Vanderbilt University (210 25th Avenue S) in Nashville from Oct. 1-5. 

Before departing for Nashville, the Grizzlies will hold their annual Media Day in Memphis on Monday, Sept. 30 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at FedExForum.  Coaches and select members of the front office will be available starting at 10 a.m., while players will be available starting at 11 a.m.

This marks the first time that the Grizzlies have held training camp in Nashville.  Since relocating from Vancouver in 2001, the organization has held camp in Memphis nine times and also has traveled to Birmingham, Ala. (2009) as well as Malaga, Spain (2007) and Barcelona, Spain (2003) as part of the NBA Europe Live Tour.

At the conclusion of the camp, the Grizzlies will treat fans to a free Open Practice at noon on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Ensworth School at the Devon Farms Campus (7401 Highway 100, Nashville, TN 37221).  The first 1,500 fans will be guaranteed admittance to the Open Practice.  Fans are encouraged to check grizzlies.com for training camp updates and coverage.

Coming off the deepest postseason run in franchise history, which culminated with a trip to the 2013 Western Conference Finals, Memphis will tip-off an eight-game preseason slate on Monday, Oct. 7 against the Chicago Bulls at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo.  The Grizzlies will open the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at San Antonio before hosting the Detroit Pistons in the home opener on Friday, Nov. 1 at FedExForum.
