Grizzlies to host 2009-10 Grizz Girls auditions on August 22

MEMPHIS, July 20, 2009— The Memphis Grizzlies will be holding auditions for the 2009-10 Grizz Girls dance team on August 22 at FedExForum’s Coventry Health Care Practice Facility at 9 a.m., but before the best dancers throughout the Mid-South assemble for the audition, the Grizzlies are offering prospective team members the chance to participate in pre-audition clinics and classes that will give them a dance leg up on the competition.

The two clinics, which will offer prospective team members the opportunity to learn the routine that will be used at the audition from Grizz Girls choreographer Tamara Moore, will be held August 13 and August 20 at the New Ballet Ensemble dance studio from 7-9 p.m. on 2157 York Avenue. The cost per clinic is $20 or $30 for both sessions. Leading up to the pre-audition clinics, Moore will also hold dance classes that will teach participants basic techniques and performance tips alongside members of the Grizz Girls every Monday and Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the New Ballet Ensemble.
