The Phoenix Suns enter FedExForum at the end of a six-city, 11-day road trip that will cover 6,301 miles. The Suns roster overall is an average of 26.4 years old, their youngest since 2009-10. The team also opens the season with nine new players who were not on the roster a year ago and six players returning to the Suns. Michael Beasley, who spent the previous two seasons in Minnesota, and Goran Dragič, who returns to Phoenix after a midseason trade to Houston during the 2010-11 season, signed with the team this offseason as free agents. The Suns landed power forward Luis Scola via amnesty waiver claim. Scola had spent the previous five seasons with the Rockets. Phoenix also drafted rookie Kendall Marshall from North Carolina in the 2012 NBA Draft. The Grizzlies have won two straight against Phoenix at FedExForum, including a 104-93 win on March 11, 2012. Key Matchup: Mike Conley vs. Goran Dragič
Mike Conley is averaging a career-high 14.9 points and 6.4 assists per game while shooting .500 from the floor. The sixth-year guard out of Ohio State is also helping the Grizzlies register 21.6 assists per game, the highest assist per game average since the 2003-04 season (23.4 apg). Memphis is also holding opponents to a league-low 18.8 assists per game. Goran Dragič is also having a stellar year in his first season with the Suns, averaging a career-high in points (15.8), assists (2.9), rebounds (2.1) and steals (2.1). Phoenix is also averaging 22.3 assists per game through 16 games, ranked seventh in the league.
