The Grizzlies rallied from eight down and held off the Clippers 90-88 in Friday night's Game 6 road win. Marc Gasol had 23 points with nine boards while Zach Randolph posted 18 points with 16 rebounds. The action now returns to Memphis for Sunday's series-deciding Game 7. The game tips-off at Noon.

Game Notes
- The Clippers began a 10-0 run early in the fourth quarter that lifted them to a 76-68 lead with 8:30 remaining. The Grizzlies answered with a 10-0 run of their own. With under five minutes remaining and the score tied, Chris Paul committed back-to-back turnovers sandwiched around a 3-point basket by Memphis point guard Mike Conley.
- After a missed 3-pointer by Clippers guard Randy Foye, Randolph came up with his huge tip-in following a missed layup by Tony Allen with 3:24 remaining giving the Grizzlies an 85-80 lead. The Clippers never got the ball back with a one-possession deficit.
- The Grizzlies won an elimination game on the road for the first time in franchise history. In the history of first-round Game 7s, the home team is 9-2.

On the late-game scoring run
“We just kept battling. We went to the offensive glass a few times, and made big plays. Marc (Gasol) got going, Zach (Randolph) got going, and Rudy (Gay) had a couple of big baskets. Then we really started collapsing, closing down, and did not give them (Clippers) anything.”
On erasing the Clippers’ fourth quarter lead
“Trailing by eight points in the fourth quarter, it was looking bleak at that time. We had the right lineup that I wanted in the game, and they finished the game. We went with it, and rode it the rest of the way. I gave Marc a couple of minutes with Hamed (Haddadi) and that was huge because Marc was running on fumes. I took Mike (Conley) out for a few minutes, and our guys that came in were just a little bit antsy, which made me return with the lineup that played most of the game. That group turned the tide, they got a couple of steals, scored, got fouled, and the next thing you know, you have a tied game.”
On defending Chris Paul
“I thought he (Paul) did not come out and attack, but once we got the lead he started attacking, scoring, and playing. As the game wore on, we just packed the lane whenever he came into the lane. There was four or five bodies there, we were just very aggressive defensively. There was not really a new (defensive) scheme, we just played harder than we have in previous games.”
On erasing a 3-1 series deficit to force a seventh game
“All this means nothing because this is a one-game series, and everyone has a chance to win.”

On physical battles:
“I think we did a great job of taking the first hit, we kept on playing and kept grinding. We were very focused on our tasks defensively. I think that was a big reason why we won this game. We made some shots but we played better defensively than the previous games and that’s why we won.”

On tonight’s play
“The pressure was on us. We had to come in here and get a win. That’s basically what it boiled down to. If we didn’t get a win today, we would be planning for vacation. I thought all the guys came in here tonight focused and ambitious. They were looking to get the win. Everybody was just on the same page. I believe that we did it together, and it was a collective effort.”
On execution on the floor
“It boiled down to just understanding their sets. We went through the guys who had it going. Execution on the offensive end, from the plays coach drew up. We tried to make them [Clippers] work on the defensive end. I think we did a good job with closing the game out. Obviously we missed 10 free throws, we need to do a much better job at the free throw line. But we’re taking it and going back to Memphis.”
On defensive mindset
“I think just clawing and trying to value every possession on the defensive end. We were able to get stops, and I don’t think they scored too many points off of our turnovers. Down the stretch we just clawed and fought. We wanted it more than they did facing elimination.”
