They said...

Rudy Gay

On the upcoming road trip

"It feels good to start this road trip like that. Obviously we play again tomorrow. We started out with some momentum going into it. It feels good to play at home and win. This is our first road trip, so we want to go out there with some momentum."

On the team’s defense

"We’re a pretty defensive team. We play really well at defense, and that’s what we did tonight."

Marc Gasol

On teamwork

"At the end of the day, that’s all it is. You have to play team basketball in order to win. If you try to do it by yourself or try some other stuff, then you cannot win. This is not tennis, this is not golf. This is basketball—five on five. There are seven guys on the bench waiting to get in and help the team win."

On the second half

"We were feeling a little bit better. We brought the pain. They put a lot of shooters out there and made some shots, but they couldn’t beat us that way."

On the game

"We were at the very bottom, so it was a must-win, especially at home."

Tony Allen

On his performance

"I think we did a good job of coming back together. This thing is bigger than Tony Allen. I’m just the piece to a puzzle. I just take advantage of opportunities when I get them. I have to be more focused."

On the game

"The more we just keep it simple, just listen to the sets that Coach (Lionel) Hollins draws up, stay in tune with the sets that Coach (Dave) Joerger calls out and play hard on both ends, that gets you a win like this. We have to carry this over on the road."
