In agreements announced today, First Tennessee will become the official bank of the Memphis Grizzlies, and Shane Battier of the Grizzlies will become a spokesperson for First Tennessee.

First Tennessee and the Memphis Grizzlies will create joint advertisements, promotions and merchandise. Battier will represent First Tennessee in ads and appearances, and he will become a member of the advisory board of First Tennessee - Germantown. The multi-year agreements begin immediately.

"It’s fantastic to announce that First Tennessee will be a major corporate supporter of our community’s first major professional league team," said Charles Burkett, president of First Tennessee in Memphis. "Our employees and our customers have told us that the Grizzlies’ coming to Memphis adds to the big league momentum in our city. Throughout our numerous conversations with the Grizzlies management they have shared First Tennessee’s philosophy that a strong community makes a great place to do business. We’ll do all we can to welcome them to Memphis and help them become supporters of our great community. And I can’t imagine a better spokesperson for First Tennessee than Shane Battier, a great athlete and a tremendous role model for young people everywhere."

"In the business world you are known by the company you keep, and the partnership with the Mid-South’s leading financial institution is a winning combination for our fans and First Tennessee customers," said Grizzlies president of business operations Andy Dolich. "We can’t wait to get started on creating programs that will benefit the community."
