Kelly English's FedExForum menu offerings to debut Tuesday, December 3
MEMPHIS, November 22, 2013– Chef Kelly English’s culinary creations will finally debut at FedExForum on Tuesday, Dec. 3, in conjunction with the Grizzlies matchup against the Phoenix Suns. The original grand opening, set to debut on November 13, was delayed due to English’s second restaurant, The Second Line, opening in Midtown.
Before this fall, Memphians could only experience the nationally-renowned menu offerings from Kelly English at his premier French-Creole restaurant, Restaurant Iris. Now, guests at FedExForum are offered four different locations featuring English’s creations.
Courtside, Suite and Floor Seat Holders will be able to sample English’s offerings at the Lexus Lounge where he will oversee the kitchen beginning Tuesday, Dec. 3. English’s southern-inspired fare can be experienced in the newly debuted FLY LOUNGE, FedExForum’s pre- and postgame event destination inside the Grand Lobby.
The Crossroads concessions stand in section 104 will feature hits from English’s The Second Line including his signature po’boys. The po’boys, authentic to his roots, will also be available in the Terrace Level at section 210.
English, a 2009 Food & Wine magazine “Best New Chef,” has made his mark on Memphis with Restaurant Iris in the historic Overton Square of midtown Memphis. English has been featured in the popular cooking magazines Food & Wine, Everyday with Rachel Ray and Bon Appetit, the cookbook Wild Abundance, and has cooked alongside Wolfgang Puck at the American Wine and Food Festival.
Locally, English was awarded the Memphis Restaurant Association’s “Restaurateur of the Year” in 2010. English and Restaurant Iris have since been awarded Memphis’ “Best Restaurant”, “Best Chef” and “Best Services” four years in a row by Memphis magazine readers, in addition to a five-year run as Memphis’ “Best Restaurant” and “Best Chef” by Memphis Flyer.
