We’re looking for beautiful, energetic and talented dancers to represent the Grizzlies in the upcoming season. Do you have what it takes? Your shot at being a part of the excitement of an NBA dance team begins in July. Learn more about each stage of the Audition process:
The Grizzlies will host two pre-audition classes for interested Dance Team hopefuls. While attendance is not required for participation in the audition process, classes offer a great opportunity to learn if you are new to the audition process or would like to know more about what it takes to become a Grizzlies Dancer. Space is limited so register early.
Tuesday, August 7 from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, August 9 from 7-9 p.m. at the Methodist Healthcare Practice Facility at FedExForum. Classes are closed to the public.
Each two-hour class will consist of dance instruction as well as give attendees the opportunity to work on the actual choreography they will be asked to perform at auditions. There will also be a question and answer session with current team management and dance team members.
$25 per class or $40 to participate in both classes. Fees are due on the day of your class or you can mail your check in advance to the address listed on the registration form. Payment may be made by check or cash only.

The cost of each class is $25 or both for $40 payable with cash or check only on the day of your class.
The first round of auditions will be on Saturday, August 11 starting at 9 a.m. The audition dance will be taught and dancers will audition in groups of three. Finalists will be chosen from this audition. First round auditions will be closed to the public.

Methodist Healthcare Practice Facility, FedExForum (Auditions are closed to the public) all applicants can report to the front of FedExForum and follow the signs.
Registration 9 - 10 a.m.
You will learn all the dance combinations at auditions. You will not have to perform your own routine at any time. It is suggested to not make any other plans for the day of the first round as there is no exact time set for the audition to end.
Pantyhose, briefs & half top. No pants or long shirts (stomach area must be shown). Jazz shoes, or sneakers (only non-marking soles will be permitted on the dance floor).
Females only. High school Graduate. Must be 18 years or older.
If selected, must reside in the Mid-South area and have means of transportation.
You must be able to attend all rehearsals and be available for at least 75% of the games. You must be employed at least part-time or be a student, not using this job as your sole source of income. You must have a headshot. This does not have to be a professional picture; however, it should be no smaller than a 5x7 and a clear photograph of you and only you. You must have a dance resumé. This should simply list any performance experience you may have, along with anything else you would like the judges to know.
A Memphis Grizzlies Dancer’s schedule is very busy. A total commitment is required.
Our judges will focus on the following:
Interviews will be conducted with finalists at the end of the day of first round auditions.
A review session will take place for all finalists on Sunday, August 12 from 6–8pm. During this session, all finalists will be asked to choreograph an individual routine of four-8-counts of movement to be performed at the finals.
The Dance Team Choreographer will give critiques on the movement routine during this review time. Finalists will also review the audition dance, which will be performed in groups of three at the finals.
Monday, August 13, 7–9pm
The Finals will be held at Horseshoe Casino - Bluesville and will be open to the public. Your family and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend. Finalists will first perform the audition dance in groups of three in front of a panel of celebrity judges. Then, each finalist will perform their individual routines of four-8-counts of movement. The 2007-2008 Memphis Grizzlies Dance Team will be selected from these finalists and announced on this evening.
