Memphis Grizzlies House

The Memphis Grizzlies House at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is a short-term housing facility on the St. Jude campus for patients and families undergoing outpatient treatment from one to seven days. In April 2002, the Grizzlies committed $5 million to fund the Grizzlies House, which is approximately 70,000 square feet and can accommodate up to 100 families at a time. In October 2002, the partnersbroke ground on the new campus residence which opened it's doors in January 2004.

  • Grizzlies House was the first housing faclity located directly on the St. Jude Campus.
  • The facility can accomodate up to 100 families at a time.
  • 64 of the units are hotel-style for short stays and 36 suites are available for longer stays.
  • St. Jude patients' stay will reflect the full range of the hospital's population - from babies to teens.
  • There is no cost to families staying at the facility.
  • The Memphis Grizzlies House gives patients and their families a home-like place to stay while undergoing treatment .
  • The facility features recreation areas for common use, including a family room, an adult room, a children room, pre-teen room, and teen room.
  • A small playground and basketball half-court are located outside of the residence.
  • Grizzlies staff and players have been active in the team's partnership through hospital visits and ticket donations. Former Grizzlie Mike Miller made a $200,000 charitable donation on behalf of his family to the hospital. And Shane Battier was a member of the Professional Advisory Board for ALSAC, the fund-raising arm of St. Jude.

The Grizzlies help with fundraising initiatives each year in support of this national event that takes place in November and December.
Read to Achieve
At St. Jude, the Grizzlies donate books to the hospital and its patient family housing facilities. Players who visit st. Jude set aside time to read to the children and encourage their continued reading while undergoing treatment.
Tickets for Kids
Grizzlies' players donate game tickets to St. Jude patients and their families.
Auction Program
The Grizzlies donate autographed items that are auctioned during St. Jude events all over the country, increasing the amount of money raised for the hospital.
