TV Play-by-Play Announcer

Pete Pranica enters his fourth season with the Grizzlies, having originally joined the team prior to the 2004-05 season as the team’s radio play-by-play announcer. Following the untimely death of the original "Voice of the Grizzlies", Don Poier, in January of 2005, Pranica assumed the television play-by-play duties..

Prior to coming to Memphis, Pranica logged five seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, the last four as their television play-by-play announcer. There he teamed with logtime NBA analyst Steve "Snapper" Jones and the duo earned a pair of regional Emmy nominations. Pranica began calling NBA action in 1990 as the Detroit Pistons’ backup radio announcer, a role he filled for six seasons.

In the summer of 2004, Pranica was part of NBA's Emmy Award-winning coverage of the Athens Olympics, providing the call for the team handball and judo competitions.

A 1986 Notre Dame graduate, Pranica also lists Seattle Seahawks preseason football as well as Notre Dame football, basketball, hockey and baseball among his play-by-play credits.

A devoted follower of the space program, Pranica has written “Space Flight Updates” for The Discovery Channel and maintains an extensive library of books on space travel. In his spare time, Pranica enjoys both golf and tennis. He lives with his wife Mary in Germantown.

Sean Tuohy

Sean Tuohy is in his seventh season as a color commentator for the Memphis Grizzlies, his first on television broadcasts. Adding color commentary to a sports broadcast is a perfect fit for this former standout point guard from the University of Mississippi. Tuohy brings seven years of experience as an analyst for radio broadcasts at Ole Miss as well as national broadcasts for Westwood One and CBS radio.

As a player at Ole Miss, Tuohy was named All-SEC in each of his four seasons. He was named to the All-Century SEC team and is the only basketball player in the history of the SEC to lead a statistical category for four years, as he did with assists. Sean Tuohy is only the fourth basketball player ever chosen to the Ole Miss Sports Hall of Fame. Drafted by the NBA’s New Jersey Nets in 1982, he opted to continue his career overseas before returning to the Mid-South to lead his own team, this time in the fast food industry.

He has been married to his college cheerleader sweetheart, the former Leigh Anne Roberts, for 25 years, and they are the proud parents of daughter Collins (21) and sons Michael Oher (21) and Sean, Jr. (14).

Radio Play-by-Play Announcer

Hasseltine returns for his seventh season with the Grizzlies, his third as the radio play-by-play voice of the team. The previous four seasons he served as the pre-game, halftime and post-game show host on all radio broadcasts. He also takes a lead role in recruiting affiliate stations for the Grizzlies Radio Network.

His broadcasting credits include working for the flagship station of the Sacramento Kings as a reporter and host of a weekly NBA show, doing play-by-play for both football and basketball at post-game duties in 2001.

Hasseltine is originally from Walnut Creek, CA and graduated from UC Davis in 1996. He has a daughter, Kate.

Radio Analyst

McDowell enters his second season with the Grizzlies' radio broadcast team as an analyst.

A 1981 graduate of Memphis State, he was the MVP of the 1980 and 1981 men's basketball teams and was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in the fifth round of the 1981 NBA Draft. Hank McDowell spent six seasons in the NBA, from 1981-87, playing in 206 games while averaging 2.9 points and 2.3 rebounds. Following his playing career, McDowell launched Memphis-based McDowell Marketing, a local business specializing in corporate apparel and promotional products.

He has also worked as an analyst on both radio and television broadcasts for the University of Memphis.

McDowell and his wife Carol have two sons, Patrick and Jake.

Radio Analyst

Elliot Perry joined the Grizzlies’ local ownership group on Oct. 8, 2005, brings 10 years and 547 games of NBA experience to the broadcast team. He averaged 6.3 points and 3.1 assists per game while playing for seven teams, including a two-game stint with the Memphis Grizzlies during the 2001-02 season. Since his retirement Perry has served as a player representative with the NBA Players Association and has also filled in on Grizzlies radio broadcasts.
