MANILA, June 29, 2007 – NBA All-Star Guard Jerry Stackhouse of the Dallas Mavericks, members of the Mavs Dancers and their dunking mascot, Mavs Man, will host NBA Madness for Filipino fans at the SM Mall of Asia from July 6 to 8, 2007. Fans will also have the opportunity to see the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy as part of the DHL-NBA Trophy Tour.

Twelve-year NBA veteran Jerry Stackhouse will participate in on-court basketball competitions and interact with fans. He will also conduct a basketball skills training demonstration and share basketball tips and insights on what it takes to be a successful basketball player. The Mavs Dancers, one of the best dance teams in the NBA, will entertain the crowd with their explosive and high energy performances while Mavs Man will delight fans with his impromptu comedy, cheerleading and dunking skills.

The DHL-NBA Trophy Tour will be one of the most exciting elements to celebrate this basketball festival. DHL and the NBA team up to bring the ultimate symbol of NBA champions – the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy – to the Philippines, giving NBA fans the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with the coveted trophy, and witness the ultimate prize for which NBA players strive all season.

NBA Madness, the NBA’s interactive basketball lifestyle event, tipped off at the SM City San Lazaro on June 15 to bring the fun and excitement of the NBA to fans of all ages. In its sixth year, NBA Madness will visit six malls in Metro Manila: SM City San Lazaro (June 15 to 17), The Block, SM North EDSA (June 22 to 24), SM Southmall Las Piñas (June 29 to July 1), SM Mall of Asia (July 6 to 8), SM City Fairview (July 13 to 15) and SM Megamall (July 20 to 22).

NBA Madness has been a fan extravaganza in the Philippines for the past five years, promoting basketball in a fun and interactive atmosphere. Fans can showcase their hoop skills and enjoy NBA entertainment through a series of activities:

- NBA 3 x 3 Challenge – An ultimate competition to determine the kings of the court!
- NBA Shooting Stars presented by Coke – Shooting from six spots on the court, teams of 3 will attempt to make all six shots in the fastest time.
- NBA 3-Point Shootout presented by Basketball TV – Fans show off their long-range shooting.
- NBA Slam Dunk Contest presented by Coke – Players take to the air as they try to bring the house down with awesome aerial moves.
- NBA 2Ball presented by Caltex with Techron – Players combine their skills in shooting, rebounding and passing in this fun game that emphasizes teamwork.
