Peja came to support the relief drive and personally help all involved.
"We are blessed to be in a position to help and that's what we should do - help the victims of the hurricane Katrina," Stojakovic said. "I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all involved during this relief drive: my good friend and former teammate Vlade Divac, the Kings owners Joe and Gavin, Save Serbian Children’s Foundation and Califour Foundation for everything they have done. Also a special thanks goes to Lohman Trucking for donating time and means of transporting the donated items."

One 53-foot truck and the fifth-wheel trailer left Sacramento the next morning and delivered to a distribution center established by former Houston Rockets Kenny Smith in partnership with the Aim High Foundation. The second 53-foot truck was delivered to a Lee Road Firehouse in Barkers Corner near Covington, La. Those donated items were delivered to people in remote areas and small towns battered by the Hurricane Katrina.
This relief effort would not have been possible without the Sacramento Kings and Monarchs, who have donated $6,000 to cover the fuel expense. An additional $3,500 was collected and will be donated to the Aim High Foundation. Peja Stojakovic has agreed to match all financial donations and contribute personally to the hurricane victims. To contribute to Peja’s efforts you may send additional financial donations to:
