Event: 2010 Korea Development Camp presented by Gatorade
Description: The fourth annual Korea Development Camp presented by Gatorade is scheduled to take place from May 19 to 23, 2010 at Yangjae Seoul Education and Culture Center in Seoul, Korea. The camp, co-organized by the Korea Basketball League (KBL) and the National Basketball Association (NBA), marks the commitment of the two professional basketball leagues and their partners on developing local basketball talent and promoting the sport of basketball in Korea.
Top 40 players aged 14 to 19 from across Korea will be selected to participate in the camp by the KBL based on their performance during the high school season. The camp will consist of intense basketball training and off-court personal development, with NBA and KBL coaches and players serving as the camp coaches. The camp MVP will earn a spot at Basketball without Borders Asia, the NBA’s premier global basketball development and community outreach program, this summer.
The program has been growing since it first launched in 2007 and will further expand this year by conducting its first-ever Big Youth Clinic and Gatorade NBA Fit Clinic.
The KBL will invite 70 Korean basketball prospects to participate in the Big Youth Clinic on May 19. These players will be evaluated by the KBL and NBA coaches and given individual instruction to help them improve as a player and a person.
The Gatorade NBA Fit Clinic, scheduled on May 22, is the NBA’s comprehensive health and wellness program that encourages physical activity and healthy living for children and families. This clinic will include selected Gatorade’s consumers and they will learn fundamental skills of basketball, nutrition and tips to maintain healthy lifestyles from the NBA coach and player.
