15 Playoff Teams Feature One or More International Players
NEW YORK, NY -- APRIL 19, 2007 When the NBA Playoffs tip off on April 21, team rosters will feature a record 60 international players from 28 countries and territories. Almost every team competing in the Playoffs will feature at least one international player. The number surpasses last year’s 44 international players from 25 countries and territories.
The Playoffs feature 22 international players in the Eastern Conference and 38 in the Western Conference. The Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns, San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors each have six international players. At the end of the 2006-07 regular season, the NBA featured 85 international players from 37 countries and territories on team rosters (both active and inactive).
