- NBA basketball returns to Barcelona on Oct. 17 for NBA Europe Live 2008 -  

LONDON , June 11, 2008 – Tickets are on sale for the game between the New Orleans Hornets and the Washington Wizards to be played on Friday, Oct. 17 at the Palau Sant Jordi as part of NBA Europe Live 2008 presented by EA SPORTS™ it was announced today by the National Basketball Association.

Tickets for the game can be purchased online at www.telentrada.com and via telephone at +34 90 210 1212 . Ticket prices range from 17€ to 104.50€.

The game between the New Orleans Hornets, led by All-Star guard Chris Paul, and the Washington Wizards, featuring All-Star guard Gilbert Arenas, will be the first time the teams have played each other in Europe. The Hornets and Wizards will also play a game in Berlin on Oct. 14. NBA Europe Live 2008 tips off with games between the Miami Heat and New Jersey Nets in Paris, France, on Oct. 9 and London, England on Oct. 12.

This will mark the NBA's ninth visit to Spain and fourth game at Palau Sant Jordi. The NBA's last visit to Barcelona was in 2006 when NBA Europe Live featured a matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and Winterthur FC Barcelona. In 2003, native son Pau Gasol returned to Barcelona for an exhibition game between the Memphis Grizzlies and FC Barcelona.

Following NBA Europe Live 2008, NBA teams will have played 48 games in 18 different cities in Europe over the past two decades. Last year’s seven NBA Europe Live games drew more than 10.3 million viewers, 75,000 spectators, and were supported by 23 marketing partners.

Euroleague Basketball will once again serve as a partner in NBA Europe Live, which it has since 2006. EA SPORTS, adidas, Champion and The Coca-Cola Company will all return as pan-European marketing partners for Europe Live, and Spalding, the official basketball of the NBA, will again serve as an official supplier. They will conduct a variety of NBA-themed promotional activities to reach NBA fans in Europe.
