- NBA Europe Live Presented by EA SPORTS ™ tips off with game in Paris on Oct. 9 -
LONDON , May 14, 2008 – Tickets are now on sale for the game between the Miami Heat and the New Jersey Nets to be played at the Palais Omnisport de Paris Bercy on Thursday, Oct. 9 as part of NBA Europe Live 2008 presented by EA SPORTS™ it was announced today by the National Basketball Association.
Tickets for the game can be purchased online at www.ticketnet.fr ; by telephone on 0892 390 490 (+33 1 46 91 57 68 from abroad); at the Bercy box office and through traditional ticket outlets. Tickets range from 99€, 75€, 49€ to 29€.
The game between the 2006 NBA Champion Miami Heat led by Dwyane Wade and the New Jersey Nets featuring former Slam Dunk Champion Vince Carter will be the first time both teams have played on European soil. The teams will then travel to London, England for a second game on Oct. 12. The NBA Europe Live Tour concludes with games between the New Orleans Hornets and Washington Wizards in Berlin, Germany on Oct. 14 and Barcelona, Spain on Oct. 17.
The NBA’s last trip to France was in 2006 when the San Antonio Spurs played games in Lyon and Paris and marks the eighth game featuring NBA teams at Bercy since 1991.
Following NBA Europe Live 2008, NBA teams will have played 48 games in 18 different cities in Europe over the past two decades. Last year’s seven NBA Europe Live games drew more than 10.3 million viewers, 75,000 spectators, and were supported by 23 marketing partners.
Euroleague Basketball will once again serve as a partner in NBA Europe Live, which it has since 2006. EA SPORTS, adidas, Champion and The Coca-Cola Company will all return as pan-European marketing partners for 2008 tour, and Spalding, the official basketball of the NBA, will again serve as an official supplier. They will conduct a variety of NBA-themed promotional activities to reach NBA fans in Europe.
