With back-to-back home victories, the Golden State Warriors have rebounded from their longest slide of the season.

A visit to Minnesota might help them end their struggles on the road.

The Warriors look to avoid a sixth straight road defeat Sunday with a fifth consecutive win over the Timberwolves.

Debuting its new short-sleeve yellow jerseys, Golden State (32-23) overcame a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat NBA-leading San Antonio 107-101 in overtime Friday for its second straight victory following a six-game skid.

"We're not going anywhere," coach Mark Jackson said. "We will not go anywhere. So get used to seeing these beautiful yellow jerseys."

The Warriors will wear the unique threads two more times, but not Sunday when they open a five-game trip trying to avoid losing at least six straight road games in a fifth consecutive season. Golden State's last five road opponents have averaged 117.8 points and shot 49.4 percent.

However, the Warriors have held Minnesota (20-32) to 91.3 points per game on 40.1 percent shooting while winning four straight in the series, including the last three at the Target Center. Golden State has won nine of 11 at Minnesota.

The Warriors hope their strong defensive effort against the Spurs carries over Sunday. San Antonio matched its third-worst shooting performance of the season at 38.9 percent and went 4 of 22 (18.2 percent) from 3-point range.

"By far our best defensive effort in a really, really long time," guard Jarrett Jack said. "Maybe a team like the Spurs makes you perk your ears and forces yourself to dig in."

Jack finished with 30 points and 10 assists while David Lee scored 25 with a season-high 22 rebounds to help Golden State snap a 16-game skid against San Antonio.

Jack became the first NBA reserve to finish with that combination of points and assists since Magic Johnson on Feb. 16, 1996. A strong candidate for the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year award, Jack has averaged 22.4 points on 52.0 percent shooting along with 6.6 assists in his last five contests, which were interrupted by a three-game absence due to a sore shoulder.

He scored 13 in a 106-98 win at Minnesota on Nov. 16, but was held to one while shooting 0 of 7 from the field in a 96-85 home victory over the Timberwolves eight days later.

Minnesota again failed to win two in a row for the first time in more than two months when it yielded its most points of the season in Friday's 127-111 loss at Oklahoma City. Rookie Alexey Shved scored 17 to lead seven players in double figures for the Timberwolves, who shot 48.2 percent but allowed the Thunder to make 57.8 percent of their attempts.

"We moved the ball better, we attacked better," guard J.J. Barea said. "I think we were a little more aggressive. We just couldn't stop them.

"If we play on offense like that every night, we're going to have better chances to win games. So hopefully we carry this on to the next game."

Shved had a season-high 22 points with seven assists in the November home meeting with Golden State.

Andrew Bogut wasn't around then, one of 38 consecutive games he missed with a sore ankle. His latest problem is a protruding disk that's causing back issues, and Bogut won't travel on the beginning of this trip after sitting out Friday's victory.

The Warriors are hopeful he can return later in the trip, but there is no timetable for his return.

Jack rallies Warriors to 100-99 win over Wolves

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Jarrett Jack has been a rock-steady pro for eight years now, the kind of reliable performer contending teams crave.

Even though he is still coming off the bench for Golden State, he's found himself in more of a starring role lately, and he showed the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday that he is equally comfortable as the leader of a playoff-caliber unit.

Jack had 23 points and eight assists to rally the Warriors to a 100-99 victory over the Timberwolves.

David Lee had 22 points and 13 rebounds for the Warriors, who trailed by 16 in the first quarter before Jack jumpstarted the offense as he has all season. Reserve Carl Landry added 19 points and nine rebounds for Golden State, which has won three in a row following a six-game losing streak.

"It's new to a lot of people," Warriors coach Mark Jackson said. "But that's who he is for us. He's been a sparkplug off the bench for us. He's been a leader. He's been a no-nonsense guy with a tremendous voice."

Jack hit 5 of 7 from 3-point range, grabbed five rebounds and delivered one forearm shiver that woke the sleepy Warriors up in the first game of a tough five-game road trip.

"We try to have resolve," Jack said. "Some resiliency, fight, but the one thing we respect the most of all, that coach has been preaching since day one is effort. Through it all, through the turnovers, the missed shots, through everything that wasn't going our way, we still played hard, and that was the thing that really allowed us to stay in the ball game."

Derrick Williams had 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who had a chance to win it in the final seconds. But Luke Ridnour's mad dash down the court ended with a floater that was off the mark, and the Warriors escaped.

Nikola Pekovic had 21 points and eight rebounds, and Ricky Rubio had 16 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds and six steals for Minnesota, which scored just 18 points in the fourth.

"We couldn't find our rhythm in the last quarter," Rubio said. "We have to practice our five-on-five offense. Sometimes we're stuck."

The Wolves were up six with six minutes to play, but Jack hit two free throws and a big 3-pointer from the top of the arch for a 96-95 lead, validating the lobbying that Jackson has been doing on his behalf for sixth man of the year.

Rubio scored on a drive to the basket and Stephen Curry hit a jumper from the right wing to reclaim the lead. Jack then made the play of the game, tapping a long rebound out to Harrison Barnes for another possession in the final 40 seconds.

Curry finished with 18 points on 6-of-15 shooting and five steals to help the Warriors overcome 22 turnovers that led to 32 Timberwolves points and a 62-36 beating on points in the paint.

The Warriors are going to have to continue their climb back from that long skid without center Andrew Bogut for the near future. Jackson said before the game that they're going to be patient with Bogut's back injury. There was no timetable put on Bogut's return and Jackson was resolute that Andris Biedrins, Festus Ezeli and the rest of Golden State's big men were ready to pick up the slack.

They certainly weren't ready for Pekovic.

Minnesota came out rolling, with Rubio throwing between-the-legs passes to Pekovic and Andrei Kirilenko and connecting with Williams on a soaring alley-oop to help the Wolves open up a 16-point lead in the first quarter. The Timberwolves held a stunning 24-0 advantage on points in the paint after the first quarter.

After scoring 30 points and dishing out 10 assists in a thrilling win over San Antonio on Friday night, Jack hit his first five shots - four of them 3-pointers - to help Golden State climb back into the game. The fiery leader drew a flagrant foul for throwing a forearm to Greg Stiemsma's chest, but that only seemed to get his teammates going.

Lee scored the team's first eight points of the second half, the last on a soft jumper to give the Warriors a 60-59 lead.

"Those are the games that I think that are the difference between being a playoff team," Lee said. "It's easy to get up for a game against San Antonio at home on national TV, but come on a Sunday afternoon, first game of the road trip, everybody's a little tired from traveling ... We got off to a bad start, but we didn't panic and we found a way to come back to win."

NOTES: Rubio also had six turnovers. ... Kent Bazemore had 1 point, the only other Warriors sub to score in the game. ... Timberwolves PF Kevin Love, who has played just 18 games this season because of a broken hand, received the Kia Community Assist award before the game for his winter coat drive.

THE FACTS: The Golden State Warriors started slowly, played sloppily, but ultimately did enough to defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves, 100-99, on Sunday afternoon. The Timberwolves got almost of third of their points (32) off of Golden States' 22 turnovers and got off to a fast start, building a 16-point first quarter lead. But Jarrett Jack kept the Warriors in the game, scoring 11 of his team's 18 first-quarter points. He was a on perfect 4-for-4 from the field (3-for-3 from long range), including a running 19-footer as the buzzer sounded. With Jack keeping the Warriors within striking range, it was David Lee who scored 10 of his 22 points in the third quarter, who helped the Warriors get the upper hand.

Minnesota received strong play from Derrick Williams who scored 23 and Nikola Pekovic who added 21 as Minnesota dominated the paint, outscoring the Warriors 62-36 inside. And Ricky Rubio followed his 13 point, 9 assist, 5 rebound, 5 steal game against Oklahoma City with another well-rounded 16 point, 11 assist, eight rebound, and six steal performance. On the backs of Williams, Pekovic and Rubio, Minnesota was able to rebuild a nine-point lead with 10:23 to play in the fourth quarter, only to have their offense go dead for a large stretch in the middle of the fourth quarter, a stretch roughly corresponding with J. J. Barea's attempt to put the Wolves on his shoulders and carry them to victory. Jack and Stephen Curry hit key shots down the stretch for the Warriors and a last second shot by Luke Ridnour came up just short, giving Golden State their third straight win and their third victory over the Wolves this season.

QUOTABLE: "When you think about 32 points off turnovers, 62 points in the paint, and they hurts us on the offensive boards, that's not a recipe that we are satisfied with. But give my guys credit. When we needed stops, when we needed to make plays, we did. We are a team that is not going to quit."

THE STAT: Golden State 22 times in the game (13 times just in the first half) leading to 32 Minnesota points. Minnesota got to the line 31 times. But Golden State was 7-for-17 from 3-point land compared to Minnesota's 1-for-11. And Golden State outrebounded Minnesota 55-48.

TURNING POINT: Golden State made key shots down the stretch and got some big offensive rebounds. Despite a 1-for-10 performance in the fourth quarter, Jack's sole made shot was huge. Trailing by two with a minute-and-a-half to play, Jack buried a 24-foot jump shot to give the Warriors the lead for the first time since midway through the third quarter. And Draymond Green grabbed a pivotal offensive rebound off a missed free-throw with 37.7 seconds to play.

QUOTABLE II: "You have to take care of the ball and be sure that you get a shot and we didn't do that (down the stretch). We had the lead at that point and sometimes we are forcing the issue. I thought a couple of times we should have gone to the weak side with the ball and changed sides a little bit and we would've had a better opportunity. These are things we have to learn from."

BAD MOVE: Jack was called for a flagrant foul 1 against Greg Stiemsma with 8:31 in the second. Ironically, this came only a few minutes after taking exception to a foul by Minnesota center Nikola Pekovic and protesting loudly to the Wolves bench and Target Center crowd that "This isn't football."

NOTABLE: Andris Biedrens started in place of Andrew Bogut. Bogut is not with the team and is sidelined indefinitely with a disc protrusion that is causing spasms in his mid-back.
