Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson is at a loss for why his squad can't seem to get out of its funk, but he's certainly not about to panic.

A visit from one of the league's worst teams could help Golden State get back on track.

The Warriors look to end a six-game losing streak by winning a fifth straight meeting with the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night.

The All-Star break didn't do much to cure Golden State's woes, as it fell 115-101 at Utah on Tuesday. It has lost by an average of 17.7 points and is allowing 117.5 points per game during its skid, which has included five losses away from home.

"It is another uncharacteristic performance by us," Jackson said. "We have to find ourselves."

Jackson, though, is taking the slump in stride and believes his struggling Warriors (30-23) will be able to turn things around quickly. He also hasn't ruled out making lineup adjustments.

"I am not going to jump off this ship," Jackson said. "I believe in my guys. We have lost six in a row and haven't played good basketball and I have been extremely patient. I love my guys and I believe in them but we have got to find five guys on the floor that are going to scratch, claw and compete because history tells me that the only way out of a funk like this is working our way out of it."

David Lee, who scored 18 points Tuesday, isn't sure if Jackson plans to make adjustments to the rotation, but said he'll welcome whatever is necessary to help get the Warriors back on track.

"The most important thing is that we win. Whatever coach decides to do, we've been with him all season and that's not going to change," Lee said. "I trust that he'll make the right decision, whatever that might be."

Stephen Curry has been one of the few Warriors playing well lately. He scored 29 points against Utah and is averaging 26.5 over his last four.

The Warriors overcame a rough performance from Curry (2 of 14 shooting, five points) to beat Phoenix 87-85 in their season opener Oct. 31, but he bounced back to score 29 points and hit six 3-pointers in a 113-93 victory Feb. 2.

That blowout was a familiar story for the Suns, who are just 6-23 away from home. They had lost six of their previous seven road games before winning 102-98 at Portland on Tuesday.

Goran Dragic had 16 points and a career-high 18 assists for Phoenix (18-36), which ended a four-game losing streak and scored 100 points for the first time in 12 games.

"I think he was aggressive as he always is, and he made plays," coach Lindsey Hunter said. "It was amazing but it was fun to watch because everybody was getting involved."

The Suns have the worst record in the Western Conference, leaving a strong possibility players could be dealt by Thursday's trade deadline. Hunter, though, simply is letting everything play out.

"I'm sure if something gets serious, I'll know about it," Hunter said.

The previous three matchups between these teams had been decided by a combined 10 points before Golden State's 20-point victory earlier this month.

Warriors snap 6-game skid, beat Suns 108-98

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) With his team stuck in a season-high, six-game losing streak, Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson called facing the Phoenix Suns "the biggest game of the season for us" just before tipoff against the Western Conference's worst team.

Apparently his players got the message.

Klay Thompson had 28 points and eight rebounds, David Lee finished with 19 points and 11 boards and the Warriors held on to beat the Suns 108-98 on Wednesday night to end their longest slide of the season.

"This is a game we should have won and we did win," Jackson said. "And I like the fashion in which we did it."

Jarrett Jack added 21 points off the bench and Stephen Curry scored 20, with both making some key shots late to secure Golden State's first victory in almost three weeks. The Warriors hadn't won since routing Phoenix 113-93 on Feb. 2, and some offered an even simpler solution to the problem.

"Maybe we need to play them more often," Jack joked.

Coming off a win at Portland a night earlier, Phoenix regressed again.

Goran Dragic had 20 points and 10 assists and Jermaine O'Neal added 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Suns, who have lost five straight to Golden State, including all three meetings this season. Phoenix went down by 10 points in the first quarter and played from behind the rest of the way.

"We're trying to create a mentality here. We're trying to learn how to be a good team," O'Neal said. "To fight and keep coming back, that's what you want. The next step is how do you keep that fight and get over the hump? That's the thing we're learning as a group now."

After losing at Utah on Tuesday night in the first game since the All-Star break, Jackson put the pressure on his team to perform. He said the game would reveal a lot about his team's character and resolve.

Just as the coach had hoped, the heart and hustle that defined Golden State's surprising run this season slowly started to return - along with its shooting stroke. Facing the Suns certainly helped, too.

The Warriors began 14 for 19 from the floor behind their streaky second-year shooting guard. On a night the team gave away promotional bobblehead dolls of him, Thompson made his first six shots, including a pair of 3-pointers that gave Golden State a 29-19 lead late in the first quarter.

Jackson even joked he already had two dolls signed by Thompson for the coach's younger sons.

In another moment worth savoring for the Warriors, Andrew Bogut took his latest step forward. The 7-foot center had 11 rebounds, seven points and three blocks in a season-high 29 minutes while playing in back-to-back games for the first time since his comeback from left ankle surgery.

"It's been tough, I'm not going to lie," Bogut said of the losing streak. "You're going to have your highs and your lows. The goal is to minimize your lows quickly."

The defensive highlight for Phoenix came when O'Neal blocked Harrison Barnes' dunk attempt at the rim, then waived his right index finger at the rookie. The Suns still struggled to slow down Thompson and the rest of the Warriors, who went ahead 55-44 late in the second quarter.

Jared Dudley's dunk and 3-pointer highlighted a brief burst for Phoenix midway through the third quarter. The Suns sliced Golden State's lead to 68-67, quieting the anxious home crowd, but just briefly.

"When you're playing uphill, you almost have to play perfect to come out with a win on the road against a good team," Suns coach Lindsey Hunter said. "And we were far from perfect. We fought at times, and then there were times when we resorted back to not doing the things that we want to do."

Thompson capped another spurt by tossing a pass ahead to Carl Landry, whose reverse layup was swatted after it hit the glass by Wesley Johnson for a goaltending call just before the buzzer, lifting Golden State back in front 85-76.

Every time the Suns started to get close late, Golden State regrouped in a hurry.

After scoring the first three points of the fourth quarter, the Warriors started a 9-2 run that Jack finished off with a 3-pointer for a 94-84 lead. He waived his hands and skipped back down court in celebration, talking to fans all along the way.

O'Neal's put-back brought Phoenix within four late, but that last-ditch threat ended quickly. Curry made a bank shot and swished a 3-pointer, Lee followed with a turnaround jumper and Jack hit another from beyond the arc to put the Warriors ahead 104-92 with 1:45 remaining.

"That's too long to go in between wins," Curry said. "Hopefully, that's the last little slide we go on this year."

NOTES: Earlier Wednesday, the Suns sent a future second-round draft pick to Houston in exchange for F Marcus Morris, who will join his twin older brother, Markieff, down in the desert, according to a person familiar with the decision who spoke on condition of anonymity because the trade hadn't been finalized. ... A moment of silence was held before the game for Lakers owner Jerry Buss, who died Monday at 80 years old. ... Thompson's career high is 32 points at Cleveland on Jan. 29.

THE FACTS: Klay Thompson scored 28 points and Stephen Curry added 20 points and 11 assists as the Golden State Warriors snapped a six-game losing streak with a 108-98 victory against the Phoenix Suns Wednesday night.

Facing what Golden State coach Mark Jackson termed "the biggest game of the season," the Warriors (31-23) led almost from wire to wire. Still, they never could deliver a decisive knockout blow to the last-place Suns (18-37), who had been bidding to sweep a road back-to-back for the first time all season.

David Lee contributed 19 points, 11 rebounds and five assists for Golden State, which hadn't won since Feb. 2, when the Warriors also beat the Suns at Oracle Arena.

Goran Dragic led Phoenix with 20 points, 10 assists and five steals. Jermaine O'Neal had 17 points and 12 rebounds off the bench.

QUOTABLE: "He said we need to play with too much pride to lose to Phoenix at home with their record, and we got the win."

THE STAT: Coming into Wednesday, the Suns had broken the 100-point barrier only twice in their previous 23 games. Golden State managed to hold them under that mark, if barely, which represented a huge improvement against the 117.5 points the Warriors hemorrhaged during their six-game skid.

TURNING POINT: The Suns made periodic runs throughout the second half, and closed to within four points (94-90) with 4:20 remaining, forcing a timeout from Jackson. The Warriors regrouped and responded with a 10-2 burst that put the game away for good.

GOOD MOVE: Jackson made a critical decision during that timeout. Rather than asking Jarrett Jack to initiate the offense, as has been typical during fourth quarters this season, Jackson put the ball in Curry's hands. The guard responded by getting loose for a running, banked 13-footer, then draining a pull-up 3-pointer. That stretched the Warriors' lead to 99-90.

QUOTABLE II: "Ultimately, I did not want Steph to be a bystander. I did not want him to wait for the action to come to him. I wanted to put him in the action. There [are] some nights where [Jarrett] Jack is going to make the plays, but I thought the situation called for the ball in Steph's hands and for him to be a playmaker."

FANTASY SPOTLIGHT: Bogut finished out the second half of a back-to-back set for the first time all season, and put up 11 rebounds, seven points, five assists, three blocks and two steals in a season-high 29 minutes.

HOT: Was it the 10,000 bobbleheads made in his likeness given away Wednesday by the Warriors? Or was it the rumors of a potential deal that would ship him to New Orleans in exchange for Eric Gordon? Whatever the fuel, Thompson started out blisteringly hot, sinking his first six shots and finishing the first quarter with 14 points.

NOT: Belying their status as the league's next-to-worst 3-point shooting team, Phoenix went 8-for-14 from deep through the first three quarters. Then the bottom dropped out; the Suns were 1-for-3 beyond the arc in the fourth quarter, and 9-for-22 overall as they couldn't put together a last-minute push.

NOTABLE: O'Neal, playing in his 17th NBA season, delivered a great block at the rim to short-circuit a potentially stupendous jam from Warriors forward Harrison Barnes midway through the second quarter, then gave the rookie a finger wag -- Dikembe Mutombo-style. . . . O'Neal has double-digit boards in three straight games for the first time since 2009. . . . Jack had 21 points for the Warriors, his ninth game scoring more than 20 this season.
