The Oklahoma City Thunder have their sights set on beginning a new home winning streak, while the road-weary Philadelphia 76ers likely are relieved their trip is nearing its end.

Oklahoma City seeks its eighth straight win in the series Friday night against Philadelphia, which hopes to avoid a 10th loss in its last 12 road contests.

The Thunder's 12-game home run came to a frustrating end Wednesday, when Kevin Durant was ejected for the first time in his career during a 110-93 loss to Brooklyn.

Durant became visibly frustrated with referee Danny Crawford and was tossed with less than two minutes remaining after scoring 27 points for Oklahoma City (24-7), which entered the game averaging 108.2 points at home.

"You get frustrated throughout a game, you show emotion. That's how you can tell you love it," Durant said.

He said he didn't love the team's defense that fell one point short of matching its season worst for points allowed. It also marked only the second time the Thunder allowed an opponent to shoot at least 50.0 percent.

"It's a fine line (between) winning and losing, and it takes commitment on both ends of the floor to be a good team," coach Scott Brooks said. "We are a good basketball team and we will focus on the next game like we've always done."

Oklahoma City has seemed quite prepared for Philadelphia during its winning streak in the series and pulled out a 116-109 overtime victory Nov. 24 behind 37 points from Durant and 30 from Russell Westbrook.

Durant is averaging 30.7 points over his last six versus the 76ers while Westbrook has averaged 27.5 during his last four against a Philadelphia team that is 2-4 on its current eight-game road trip.

The 76ers (15-18) scored fewer than 90 points for the third time in four contests and fell 95-89 at Phoenix on Wednesday despite Jrue Holiday's second-career triple-double (16 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists).

Philadelphia, which has dropped three straight in Oklahoma City, concludes its trip Saturday at San Antonio.

"We know OKC and San Antonio are two good teams, but we've got to worry about the next one and that's OKC," Holiday said. "The last time we played them it came down to overtime, so we'll be ready."

Holiday shot only 3 for 11 and scored a season-low six points in that contest, but he did have 13 assists. He has 10 assists in three of his last four games and ranks near the top of the league at 9.0 per game, but he also is averaging an NBA-worst 3.8 turnovers after committing six Wednesday.

"We're a team that sort of depends on everybody, but we ride Jrue so much," coach Doug Collins said. "Even if he gets a little bit off, we just count on him to do so much for us."

Philadelphia has lost nine of 12 overall and is among the league's worst teams in scoring at 93.3 points per game. That is partly due to its notoriously slow starts, averaging 22.8 points in the first quarter to rank near the bottom of the league.

"The inconsistency just comes back to haunt us every night," Collins said.

Thaddeus Young had a season-best 29 points and added a career-high 15 rebounds in the first meeting with the Thunder - the second in the last three matchups that has been decided in overtime.

Big second half helps Thunder rout Sixers 109-85

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The Oklahoma City Thunder didn't want to leave home on a sour note with a difficult stretch on the road ahead.

Russell Westbrook scored 27 points, Kevin Durant added 26 and the Thunder beat the Philadelphia 76ers 109-85 on Friday night before heading out to play 11 of their next 13 games on the road.

Oklahoma City made eight of its first 10 3-point attempts in the second half and never trailed after scoring the final five points before halftime.

The Thunder had lost 110-93 to Brooklyn on Wednesday night, but were able to avoid posting back-to-back losses at home for the first time since dropping two of the first three games of the 2010-11 season.

"We've got to take advantage of our fans and take advantage of home court," Westbrook said.

Oklahoma City went 23 for 36 from the field, connecting at a sizzling 64 percent clip, while outscoring Philadelphia 63-43 in the second half.

"Our defense was really solid the whole night. The offense was a little slow, and coach told us going into the second half that we could score points so quickly, we just have to stick with our defense. That's what we did," Durant said.

"All we needed was to see a few shots go down."

Serge Ibaka chipped in 15 points and 10 rebounds and Kevin Martin had 16 points off the bench for the Thunder.

Nick Young hit five 3-pointers and led Philadelphia with 21 points. He also attempted the Sixers' only eight free throws of the game, making six. Oklahoma City went 21 for 27.

"We've got to be stronger, take that ball to the basket and make them foul us," Philly coach Doug Collins said. "For one guy to shoot a free throw tonight, I'm not saying anything that that has anything to do with the whistle. So, I don't want that to be miscalculated at all."

Jrue Holiday had 15 points and nine assists, Dorell Wright contributed 11 points and Thaddeus Young scored 10 for Philadelphia. Spencer Hawes pulled down 13 rebounds. The Sixers fell to 2-5 on their eight-game road trip, which started before Christmas and concludes Saturday night at San Antonio.

The schedule soon flips for both teams. Philadelphia will play 13 of 15 games at home after facing the Spurs. Oklahoma City will try to maintain one of the league's best records while heading East, then on a pair of West Coast swings with brief stops at home in between.

"It's a good test for us to see where we're at. The road is always tough, no matter who you're playing," Durant said. "We've got to come out there and try to do a good job. We're looking forward to it."

The Thunder opened their first double-digit lead shortly after coach Scott Brooks came walking out on to the court to call timeout, screaming, "Let's Go!" at his players after Westbrook had turned the ball over by driving into the back of teammate Kendrick Perkins shortly after halftime.

Neither player made an attempt to run to the opposite end of the court, and Jason Richardson threw down a two-handed slam off Holiday's alley-oop.

Durant came out of the timeout and immediately drove into the lane, kicking the ball out to Thabo Sefolosha for a 3-pointer, and then drilled a 3 on the next trip down for a 56-46 advantage. Richardson answered with a 3-pointer, a layup and a runner for the Sixers before Westbrook scored six points during an 8-0 burst that pushed the lead to 69-57 for Oklahoma City with 3:50 left in the third quarter.

The Thunder salted it away with a 16-3 run late in the fourth quarter, as both teams started filtering reserves onto the court.

"They'll hit you with a surge, and that's what they did," Collins said.

After a tight first half that featured 14 lead changes, Oklahoma City scored the final five points of the first half to take a 46-42 lead and stayed in front the rest of the way.

"They kept making shots," Philadelphia's Evan Turner said. "They tried to counter off our turnovers and they got to running. The first half, we slowed the game down and didn't allow them to run."

Notes: Before the game, Collins offered his analysis of the Thunder's offseason deal that sent Sixth Man of the Year James Harden to Houston for Martin. "I think where you're going to see the value of James Harden is come playoff time. That's when," Collins said. "Because James Harden in so many instances, was their point guard and Westbrook scored and Durant. I think that's when you'll really see because in the playoffs, you need as many playmakers as possible. Kevin Martin can really score that ball but he plays off other guys. I think people don't realize James Harden also last year made more free throws in the fourth quarter than anybody in the NBA." ... Country star Vince Gill watched the game from a courtside seat along the baseline. ... Oklahoma City has played 20 of its first 32 games at home, going 17-3 at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

THE FACTS: The Oklahoma City Thunder are usually in a foul mood after a loss and that was once again the case Friday night as OKC won for the sixth time in seven games following a defeat by drilling the Philadelphia 76ers 109-85 behind a combined 53 points from Russell Westbrook (27) and Kevin Durant (26). Westbrook was 10-for-17, including 4-for-4 on 3-pointers.

The Thunder used a big second half to bury the Sixers who were playing their third road game in four nights.

Philadelphia was led by Nick Young who came off the bench to score 21 points and was 5-for-7 on threes. But the 76ers, who had scored 90 points or more only once in the four games before tonight could not get there again. They had three other players in double figures. Jrue Holiday hit for 15 but was just 1-for-6 on 3-pointers. Holiday did hand out nine assists though and Dorell Wright came off the bench to score 11 and Thaddeus Young managed 10 points.

The Thunder had four players in double figures in addition to Durant and Westbrook Serge Ibaka had his sixth double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds and sharp-shooter Kevin Martin broke out of a minor slump to score 16 points on 5-for-9 shooting (4-for-4) from long range.

It was a big night overall for the Thunder from downtown (10-for-17, 58.8 percent) on threes. And after a bad night on defense in Wednesday's loss to Brooklyn the Thunder held Philadelphia to just 40.5 percent shooting.

QUOTABLE: "I liked the way we started defensively, I thought we were good with that for all four quarters and that's what we wanted to do. We wanted activity on the ball and we didn't wanna get beat off the dribble."

THE STAT: The Thunder defense was steady all night long and was especially tough in the fourth quarter, holding Philly to just 35.0 percent shooting but the Thunder offense was also clicking, especially in the second half when OKC outscored the Sixers 63-43 by shooting 63.9 percent overall and 72.7 percent (8-for-11) on 3-pointers.

TURNING POINT: A 9-2 Thunder run, sparked by a couple of Westbrook steals, in the middle of the third quarter extended a tenuous three-point lead out to 10 and Oklahoma City maintained a double digit lead the rest of the way.

QUOTABLE III: "We fell asleep on their 3-point shooters, we gave them about six threes where our guys didn't stay locked in but we were still kinda hanging around and they made that one big push, 63 points we gave to them in the second half."

HOT: Westbrook was 4-for-6 (10 points) in the first quarter...Young was 4-for-5 (eight points) at halftime. ... Holiday and Jason Richardson were 4-for-5 in the second half. ... Martin was 4-for-5 (4-for-4 on threes) in the final 24 minutes...OKC was 12-for-17 (70.6 percent) in the third quarter.

NOT: The 76ers opened the game shooting 37.5 percent (9-for-24) in the first quarter and had improved only slightly to 39.5 percent by halftime. ...Spencer Hawes was 3-for-11.

INSIDE THE ARENA: With the University of Oklahoma football team playing on the Cotton Bowl just three and a half hours south of OKC, a few Thunder fans opted to for football over basketball but only a few. Chesapeake Energy Arena was sold out and there appeared to be only a hundred or so no-shows. Country music star Vince Gill, who grew up in Oklahoma City, sat courtside.

GOOD MOVE: After starting poorly on defense Wednesday night against Brooklyn, Oklahoma City was in lockdown mode against the Sixers, holding them to 37.5 percent shooting and just 21 points in the first quarter while forcing five turnovers. For the game the Sixers gave it away 20 times and the Thunder scored 24 points off those turnovers.

BAD MOVE: One of Coach Collins' goals before the game was to limit the Thunder's, and especially Durant's, trips to the free throw line. His team wasn't able to get that done in the first half as OKC was 12-for-15 at the stripe and Durant was 6-for-6. For the game Oklahoma City got to the line 27 times and hit 21 (77.8 percent).

NOTABLE: OKC is now 6-1 (.857) following losses this season (lost to Brooklyn Wednesday) and going back to the 2010-11 season Oklahoma City is 41-10 (.804) after losses.
