With so much focus on Allen Iverson's criticisms of his new team, somewhat lost among the four-time scoring champion's complaints is the Memphis Grizzlies' four-game losing streak.

The Grizzlies look to snap that skid Saturday night when they visit a Los Angeles Clippers team looking for its first three-game winning streak since December.

After signing a one-year deal with the Grizzlies in September and working his way back from a torn right hamstring, Iverson made his season debut in Monday's 127-116 overtime loss at Sacramento. The 10-time All-Star came off the bench for just the 10th time in his career and finished with 11 points.

"Go look at my resume and that will show you that I'm not a sixth man," Iverson said after that defeat. "I don't think it has anything to do with me being selfish. It's just who I am."

Iverson didn't back off his comments prior to Friday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. "Do I say all the right things all the time? I doubt it,'' he said. "But the ultimate goal is to win games. That's the only thing it's about.''

Memphis (1-5), though, fell to 0-4 on its trip with a 114-98 loss to the defending champions.

Coming off the bench for the third straight game, Iverson scored eight points in 22 minutes.

Rudy Gay had 22 points and Zach Randolph posted his third straight double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds.

Gay averaged 28.7 points and shot 59.6 percent as the Grizzlies won two of three against the Clippers last season, including a 118-95 victory at Staples Center on March 4 in which he scored a season-high 35.

Randolph, who did not play in that game for Los Angeles due to the death of his father, faces his former Clippers teammates for the first time since getting traded to the Grizzlies in the offseason for Quentin Richardson.

Randolph averaged 20.9 points and 9.4 boards in 39 games for the Clippers in 2008-09. He was suspended twice during his five-month stay in Los Angeles - two games for punching Phoenix's Louis Amundson in February and two more in April after a drunk driving arrest.

While Memphis is hoping to avoid a winless five-game trip, Los Angeles (2-4) is looking for its first three-game winning streak since Dec. 12-16.

The Clippers followed a 93-90 win over Minnesota with 118-90 victory at Golden State on Friday night.

Baron Davis and Eric Gordon scored 25 points apiece and Chris Kaman added 22 as Los Angeles shot a season-best 57.9 percent from the field.

"I'm getting better at feeling out his game,'' Kaman said of Davis, who signed with the Clippers last offseason. "I didn't get to do a lot of that last year."

Kaman, who has scored 20 or more points in a career-best five straight contests, missed all three games versus Memphis last season with a foot injury.

He'll be matched up with Grizzlies second-year center Marc Gasol, who is averaging 16.3 points and 11.7 boards.

Gasol had 20 points, eight rebounds and a career-high 10 assists in the March 4 victory at Staples Center.

Streaking Clippers knock off Iverson-less Grizzlies

LOS ANGELES (NBA.com exclusive) -- After beginning the season with four consecutive losses, the Clippers are streaking in the opposite direction.

The Clippers won their third game in a row Saturday night, defeating the Allen Iverson-less Memphis Grizzlies 113-110 at Staples Center.

The Clippers haven't won three in a row since December of last season. They haven't won four straight since the start of the 2008-09 season. Los Angeles will try to match that feat Monday when it hosts the New Orleans Hornets.

"Right now, we're playing good basketball," said Clippers forward Marcus Camby. "Those first four games of the season, we were playing against four tough opponents. We were in those games for the most part. We just weren't able to finish them."

The Clippers (3-4) put the finishing touches on Memphis behind 11 fourth-quarter points from Rasual Butler, nine from Chris Kaman and seven off the bench from Craig Smith.

Kaman finished with 26, the sixth consecutive game he has topped the 20-point mark, Smith finished with 18 points in just over 22 minutes and Butler contributed 17.

"He was the key to us winning this ball game," Camby said of Smith.

"He's just kind of like the X-factor out there. You never know when his number is going to be called, but he's always ready."

The Clippers never led by more than one point until Butler sank a 3-pointer to give them a 105-101 lead with 3:14 remaining. The Clippers then shot 4-for-8 from the free-throw line in the final 1:10 to keep the Grizzlies within striking distance. Memphis had one final shot to tie the game, but Rudy Gay's 3-point shot went long at the buzzer.

Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy said he instructed the team to foul near midcourt on the final possession.

"My philosophy is when there are under five seconds, you foul," he said. "We didn't get it done."

The Grizzlies (1-6) learned earlier in the day that Iverson, a former NBA rookie of the year and MVP, had left the team for personal reasons. Iverson, 34, had been unhappy with his backup role in Memphis, though coach Lionel Hollins said Iverson's departure was unrelated to his displeasure over playing time.

"It's tough when you have somebody in the rotation and you get used to it and then somebody goes out of the rotation," Memphis point guard Mike Conley said of Iverson's absence. "You have to get used to a whole different routine."

As one superstar departed the Grizzlies, however, another continued to emerge.

Gay, the fourth-year small forward, finished with 33 points, just two shy of his career high. He had 31 through the first three quarters, but shot just 1-for-6 in the fourth.

Gay, who reached his career high last March against the Clippers at Staples Center, scored 14 in the opening quarter to help the Grizzlies to a 29-23 lead. The Clippers fell behind by 11 twice in first half, but answered with 9-0 runs each time to close the gap.

Los Angeles took its first lead of the game on a 3-pointer by Smith early in the second -- his first 3-pointer of the season.

"We got off to a slow start, so Sebastian [Telfair] was saying to the second unit, 'We need to come out here with some energy,' " Smith said. "I just try to do the small things, crash the boards and make plays on both ends."

Zach Randolph, who played for the Clippers part of last season, finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Grizzlies. Conley added 16 points and six assists and Marc Gasol and DeMarre Caroll scored 10 each. O.J. Mayo, who played his college ball at nearby USC, scored six of his eight points in the fourth.

"It's the little things that separate the winning and losing," Hollins said. "We had our chances to make plays and do things and we had a few bad possessions and a few turnovers."
