An arm injury is expected to keep point guard T.J. Ford out of the Toronto Raptors' lineup for the remainder of the week, but Jose Calderon has filled in admirably.

Calderon is expected to make his fourth straight start when the Raptors welcome the Memphis Grizzlies to the Air Canada Centre on Wednesday night.

Calderon had 19 points and a career-high 14 assists in Toronto's 93-78 win over Chicago on Sunday. Chris Bosh added 16 points and 13 rebounds, and Jamario Moon matched a career-high with 15 points with nine rebounds, three steals and six blocked shots as the Raptors (7-7) improved to 2-1 since Ford's injury.

Bosh, who leads the Raptors with 19.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game, praised Calderon's play.

"Jose is playing fantastic right now," Bosh said. "He's moving the ball where he's supposed to and taking good shots. He's just poised and controlled. We need that right now, especially with T.J. being out."

Ford is second on Toronto with 15.0 points and a team-high 7.8 assists per game. According to the Raptors' official Web site, he's not expected back until Saturday when Toronto plays at Washington.

Since Ford's injury, Calderon has averaged 12.0 points and 11.7 assists. Ford said he's not surprised by Calderon's success.

"I think we've both been playing well the whole year," Ford said. "Last year, when someone went down, the other one picked up the slack. Our strength is making teams prepare for both of us."

Calderon's first start of the season came last Wednesday against Memphis (5-9), and he had 10 points and eight assists in the Raptors' 95-89 victory. Toronto will be looking for its third straight win over the Grizzlies after an eight-game losing streak to them.

Memphis, meanwhile, will be looking for its first three-game winning streak since one to close out the 2006-07 season. After beating Washington on Saturday, the Grizzlies defeated New Jersey 110-103 on Tuesday.

Pau Gasol had 22 points as the Grizzlies had five players in double figures. Mike Miller added 19 and nine assists and Juan Carlos Navarro chipped in with 16 and 11 rebounds.

"It's good for us," Miller said. "We've worked so hard and been so close. We're getting better, which is huge. We've got to continue to win games."

Navarro came off the bench, played less than 10 minutes and had just two points in last week's win over the Raptors. He's started three games and averaged 20.0 points since then.

During the Grizzlies' past two wins, Navarro is shooting 50.0 percent (8-of-16) from behind the arc and is tied with Miller for the team lead with 27 3-pointers.
