The Milwaukee Bucks had hoped to have Michael Redd back in the lineup Tuesday, but they'll again be without their leading scorer as they try to snap a four-game losing streak in a matchup with the struggling Orlando Magic.

Redd, who averages 27.7 points per game, has missed the last 15 contests with a strained patellar tendon in his left knee.

Without the swingman, the Bucks (18-30) have gone 2-13. They're in last place in the Central Division, 11 games behind first-place Detroit.

The Bucks had hoped Redd could play against Orlando after returning to practice Monday, but coach Terry Stotts said after the session that Redd wouldn't be available.

Redd's backcourt mate Mo Williams didn't feel right filling Redd's role Saturday, despite scoring a career-high 38 points on 16-of-31 shooting in Milwaukee's 117-98 loss to Miami.

"I definitely don't feel comfortable shooting 31 times," said Williams, who's second on the team with 18.2 points per game. "When Mike is there, I'm 15, 16 shots. I'm comfortable with that."

Redd, a second-round draft pick in 2000, has blossomed into a star, leading the Bucks in scoring in each of the last three seasons with successively higher averages.

Even without Redd, the Bucks hope they can keep their six-game home winning streak over the Magic intact. They've lost once to Orlando in the last 15 meetings at the Bradley Center, with the defeat coming Nov. 2, 2002.

Milwaukee also will be without reserve center Dan Gadzuric, who will miss six weeks with a dislocated left shoulder suffered in the loss to Miami. Gadzuric has appeared in 44 of Milwaukee's 48 games, averaging 3.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in about 13 minutes per game.

Orlando (25-23) lost 94-86 to New York on Saturday. The Magic shot 37.7 percent (29-for-77) en route to their ninth defeat in 12 games.

"We didn't deserve to win tonight's game," coach Brian Hill said. "Obviously we didn't make shots, but we took way too many jump shots to begin with. For us to be effective we obviously have to make shots."

The Magic appeared to be finding consistency in the previous two games, beating Milwaukee 98-73 on Wednesday and routing New Jersey 119-86 on Friday, but they failed to establish their inside game against the Knicks.

Orlando will need to improve its shooting without the help of swingman Grant Hill, who will be sidelined up to three weeks with a knee sprain. Orlando's second-leading scorer at 15.1 points per game, Hill will miss his third contest since suffering the injury in last Wednesday's victory over the Bucks.

Hedo Turkoglu had a team-high 17 points in that win. He will need to rebound from a subpar performance against the Knicks, though, as he scored 13 points and shot 4-for-15 (26.7 percent) from the floor.
