TORONTO, Oct. 22 (Ticker) -- Fred Jones kept the Toronto Raptors rolling
along.
Jones recorded 22 points and three blocks off the bench as the
Raptors remained undefeated in the preseason with a 91-90
triumph over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
A 6-2 guard with good leaping ability, Jones shot 7-of-14 from
the floor, including 2-of-2 on 3-pointers, for Toronto (6-0),
which played without Chris Bosh and No. 1 overall pick Andrea Bargnani. Jones signed as a free agent this offseason after
spending his first four campaigns with Indiana.
Kris Humphries' offensive rebound and follow shot gave the
Raptors the lead for good, 91-89, with 42 seconds remaining.
Cleveland's Sasha Pavlovic split a pair of free throws 12
seconds later, but the Cavaliers never got another possession
thereafter.
Humphries and Morris Peterson scored 16 points apiece for
Toronto, which shot 38 percent (30-of-78) and forced 19
turnovers.
Superstar LeBron James had 21 points and two steals and Larry Hughes chipped in 14 points, eight assists and seven rebounds
for Cleveland, which shot 40 percent (35-of-86) and led by as
many as 13 points.
