PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 11 (Ticker) -- Rashard Lewis proved he can pile on the points whenever he feels like it.

Lewis scored 13 of his 17 points in the third quarter and Ray Allen added 14 for the Seattle SuperSonics in a 99-89 triumph over the Portland Trail Blazers in the opening preseason matchup for both teams.

A 6-10 swingman with good touch, Lewis shot 4-of-10 from the floor and made 8-of-10 free throws for Seattle, which shot 45 percent (32-of-70) from the field and survived 23 turnovers.

Seattle's Luke Ridnour left the game after injuring his right thumb in the first quarter. X-rays were negative.

Zach Randolph had 20 points and seven rebounds and Jarrett Jack chipped in with 14 points for the Blazers, who shot 44 percent (32-of-72).

First-round selection Brandon Roy scored just eight points in his debut on 3-of-10 shooting for Portland, which is hoping to bounce back from a league-worst 21-61 record last season. He was the sixth overall pick in June but was traded from Minnesota for the draft rights to Randy Foye, who was taken one pick later.
