Dallas at San Antonio 8:00 pm EDT Western Conference semifinals Series tied, 3-3

SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- The San Antonio Spurs have played with the heart of a champion, twice avoiding an abrupt end to their dream of consecutive NBA titles.

The Spurs can become the ninth team to rally from a 3-1 deficit and win a postseason series Monday when they host the Dallas Mavericks in Game Seven of the Western Conference semifinals.

In a showdown of 60-win teams, Dallas and San Antonio have split their 10 encounters, dating to the regular season, and have displayed much passion and intensity over the past two weeks in a classic series.

Former Maverick Michael Finley scored 10 of his 16 points in the third quarter and hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 2:45 left as the Spurs evened the series with Friday's 91-86 victory.

Manu Ginobili led San Antonio with 30 points and 10 rebounds and Tim Duncan added 24 points to help offset a rought night for Tony Parker, who scored eight on 3-of-15 shooting in 34 minutes.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 26 points and grabbed 21 rebounds and Josh Howard added 17 points for Dallas, which shot under 39 percent (32-of-83) from the floor.

The Mavericks will have guard Jason Terry back for the series finale after he served a one-game league suspension for punching Finley late in Game Five. Terry scored 32 points in Game Four.

With the exception of Game Two, every contest has been decided in the final moments with the victory margin in single digits. The Mavericks have won all three games when they have topped 100 points and lost when held below the century mark.
