"It was still a win," Nuggets coach George Karl said. "You have those games when you have to battle and this was one of them. I'm really proud of these guys."
Gaining a reputation as clutch performer in the fourth quarter, Anthony came through again by draining a jumper with 1:31 remaining to snap an 89-89 tie and give the Nuggets the lead for good.
"Teams are going to make runs and Golden State made theirs tonight," Anthony said. "We've been giving up some big leads. Hopefully it's not contagious and we can stop it before the playoffs."
Anthony made 9-of-16 shots and went 10-of-14 at the free-throw line in 35 minutes.
Rookie Ike Diogu and Derek Fisher scored 19 points apiece for Golden State (30-46), which lost its eighth straight game.
"We're still learning as a team how to finish a game," said Fisher, who missed two 3-pointers in the waning seconds. "We had an opportunity but didn't get it done. We have to keep learning from these setbacks."
