TORONTO (Ticker) -- The Boston Celtics hope to maintain their
slim postseason aspirations when they visit the Toronto Raptors
on Tuesday.
Boston trails Philadelphia (34-38) by 4 1/2 games for the eighth
and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
A 100-94 loss at Chicago on Saturday was Boston's eighth in its
last 12 games. Wally Szczerbiak was 12-of-18 from the floor en
route to a 28-point performance.
All-Star Paul Pierce had one of his worst games of the season as
he was held to 18 points on a dismal 4-of-18 shooting effort.
Toronto has lost four in a row following its 120-113 home loss
to New Orleans on Sunday. Morris Peterson had 27 points and
rookie Charlie Villanueva collected 25 points and a season-high
18 rebounds.
Raptors star Chris Bosh missed his third straight game because
of sprained right thumb that might keep him sidelined for the
rest of the season.
The Celtics have won two of their three matchups against the
Raptors this season.
