Philadelphia (32-38) at New York (19-51) 7:30 pm EST

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia 76ers are picking a bad time to do their best impression of the New York Knicks.

The reeling 76ers desperately need a victory Friday when they take the court against the Knicks, who once again are mired in a lengthy losing streak themselves.

Philadelphia still sits in the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference - 1 1/2 games ahead of Chicago - despite having lost 10 of its last 12 games.

The 76ers' latest setback came Wednesday, a 101-91 defeat against Detroit, despite 28 points from Allen Iverson and 23 from Chris Webber. Kyle Korver chipped in 13 points for Philadelphia, which plays five of its next six games against teams currently under .500.

The Knicks have only a dozen games remaining in their nightmare season, which currently has the team riding a six-game losing streak.

New York was pounded by Boston, 123-98, on Wednesday despite 20 points apiece from Qyntel Woods and Eddy Curry and 19 from Stephon Marbury.

The Knicks have won six straight home meetings with the 76ers, who host the back end of the home-and-home series on Sunday.
