Milwaukee (36-35) at Detroit (57-14) 8:00 pm EST
AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- While the Milwaukee Bucks are
coming off an impressive victory over one the NBA's best teams,
they certainly cannot afford a letdown at this point.
The Bucks try to continue their playoff push Friday when they
tangle with the mighty Detroit Pistons, owners of the league's
best record.
Milwaukee, which trails Washington by 1 1/2 games for the fifth
spot in the Eastern Conference, is coming off a pair of
resounding triumphs in which the team averaged 128.5 points.
The Bucks rolled over the Phoenix Suns, 132-110, on Tuesday
behind a league-record 11 3-pointers in the third quarter.
Charlie Bell made 5-of-8 from the arc en route to his first
career triple-double, finishing with 19 points and career highs
of 10 rebounds and 13 assists.
Michael Redd made six 3-pointers en route to 28 points and Toni
Kukoc and Dan Gadzuric chipped in 17 apiece for Milwaukee, which
shot 60 percent (52-of-86) and made a blistering 18-of-32 from
the arc.
Detroit, which already has clinched the Central Division title,
has won six of seven following its 101-91 victory vs.
Philadelphia on Wednesday.
Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess scored 18 points apiece and
Tayshaun Prince and Richard Hamilton each contributed 16 for
the Pistons, who lead the San Antonio Spurs by 1 1/2 games in
the race for home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.
Detroit has won both meetings with Milwaukee this season,
including a 106-102 overtime triumph on January 25 in the last
encounter.
