SEATTLE (Ticker) -- The Western Conference-leading San Antonio
Spurs continue on their five-game road trip as they pay a visit
to the Seattle SuperSonics on Sunday.
Brent Barry scored 23 points, including seven 3-pointers, off
the bench and Manu Ginobili added 16 as the Spurs posted a 98-79
victory over Portland on Friday. San Antonio was deadly from
beyond the 3-point line, draining 12-of-21 shots.
The Spurs are in a heated battle with Dallas (54-16) for the
best record in the West and also with Detroit (55-13) for the
NBA's top spot and home-court advantage throughout the
postseason.
Luke Ridnour recorded 18 points, nine rebounds and eight assists
and second-year center Robert Swift scored a career-high 17
points and pulled down 11 boards in Friday's 117-104 loss to
Denver.
In its last six contests, Seattle - which is the worst defensive
team in the league - is allowing more than 111 points per game.
San Antonio has won three straight and 10 of the last 12
meetings against the SuperSonics, including a 103-78 triumph on
February 21. The All-Star duo of Tony Parker and Tim Duncan
combined to collect 43 points and pull down 17 rebounds in the
winning effort.
