Kings shoot for 15th straight home win against Warriors
Golden State (29-38) at Sacramento (35-34) 9:00 pm EST
SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- The Sacramento Kings continue
their push for a playoff spot Sunday when they host the Golden
State Warriors.
Largely on the strength of a 14-game home winning streak - the
fourth-longest in franchise history - the Kings have vaulted
into eighth place in the Western Conference standings, two games
ahead of New Orleans.
Sacramento earned a split of a two-game road trip with
Saturday's 91-89 victory over Utah. Mike Bibby scored 24 points
and Bonzi Wells added 23, including a key 3-pointer down the
stretch.
The Kings overcame a 48-33 rebounding deficit by forcing 20
turnovers and making 25 free throws.
The Warriors' playoff hopes remain a faint possibility, thanks
to Jason Richardson's heroics in Thursday's 122-121 win at
Dallas. Richardson capped a 40-point performance with a long
3-pointer at the buzzer as Golden State remained within five
games of Sacramento.
One of the Kings' home wins during their run was a 102-77
triumph over Sacramento on February 21. Bibby led five players
in double figures with 16 points.
