Washington (30-29) at Miami (39-20) 7:30 pm EST

MIAMI (Ticker) - The Miami Heat have a pair of lengthy streaks at risk Wednesday when they host one of their Southeast Division rivals, the Washington Wizards.

The Heat have won a season-high nine straight games and have won their last 10 meetings against the Wizards, who have not won a game in the series since April 11, 2003.

Miami extended its current surge by posting a 106-105 overtime win at last-place Charlotte on Monday. Shaquille O'Neal celebrated his 34th birthday by scoring a season-high 35 points, including all eight of the Heat's points in the extra session.

Jason Williams made up for the absence of All-Star Dwyane Wade, who missed his second straight game because of a sprained right wrist, by matching his season high with 24 points.

Washington is hoping to bounce back from a heartbreaking 116-115 home defeat against Boston, its fifth loss in six games.

Gilbert Arenas scored 39 points, including nine in overtime. His jumper with 14 seconds to go gave the Wizards a one-point lead, but fellow Eastern Conference All-Star Paul Pierce lifted the Celtics with an off-balanced jumper at the buzzer.
