Indiana (27-25) at New Jersey (31-23) 6:00 pm EST
EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- With a horrible record
away from Conseco Fieldhouse, the Indiana Pacers must not be
looking forward to playing at Continental Airlines Arena on
Sunday.
Reeling with a six-game road losing streak, the Pacers face
the New Jersey Nets, who have won 15 of their last 16 games
here.
Indiana's last road victory came in Chicago on January 14 - a
91-89 triumph. The Nets defeated the Pacers, 97-92, two days
later. Ironically, that loss was the beginning of Indiana's
recent struggles on the road.
The Pacers are looking to rebound from a 117-112 overtime loss
to Atlanta on Friday. Indiana, which fell to the Hawks for the
third straight time this season, yielded 40 points to Joe
Johnson.
Peja Stojakovic scored 34 points - including five 3-pointers -
and Fred Jones had a season-high of 31 points for the Pacers.
Swingman Stephen Jackson, who did not play in the second half of
the loss to Atlanta, is questionable for Sunday due to a sore
right knee. Jackson has struggled in the last five games,
averaging only 9.6 points and shooting just 29 percent overall.
New Jersey earned its fourth consecutive win overall, a 94-90
victory over the New York Knicks on Friday. The Nets scored the
first 10 points of the contest, led by as many as 21 points and
played from in front throughout.
Nenad Krstic made all 11 of his shots to finish with 23 points.
Richard Jefferson collected 27 points, eight rebounds and six
assists and Vince Carter contributed 26, six and five.
The season series is tied at one game apiece.
