LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Clippers never have won
three straight games over the Utah Jazz in the "City of Angels."
They can end that drought Monday at Staples Center.
Los Angeles, which is meeting Utah for the first time this
season, won both of its home games in the series last campaign.
The Clippers had dropped 10 of their previous 11 home
encounters against the Jazz prior to last season.
The Clippers have not won three in a row at home over the Jazz
since winning their final meeting in San Diego during the
1983-84 season, then the first two meetings in Los Angeles the
next campaign.
Los Angeles dropped the opening contest of its current
seven-game homestand before winning the next two, including a
98-72 rout of Seattle on Saturday in which Chris Kaman collected
a career high-tying 25 points and 10 rebounds before sitting
out the fourth quarter.
Utah, which holds a half-game lead over Minnesota and Denver
atop the Northwest Division, had won eight of nine before
absorbing a 100-94 loss to Miami on Saturday.
Andrei Kirilenko scored 25 points and Mehmet Okur added 20 and
14 rebounds for the Jazz, who were dominated on the glass,
50-36.
