MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- For the second time in three days, the San Antonio Spurs and the Memphis Grizzlies collide in a Southwest Division contest.

The Spurs escaped with a thrilling 80-79 triumph in the front end of a home-and-home series that concludes here Monday. Saturday's game was decided on Tim Duncan's alley-oop layup with 7.2 seconds left.

Pau Gasol scored 26 points for Memphis but was 4-of-13 from the free-throw line and had five turnovers. The Grizzlies had a chance to pull out the win, but Bobby Jackson's last-second jumper was off the mark.

Manu Ginobili, starting for the first time in seven games, scored 20 points and dished out seven assists, including the floating inbounds pass that Duncan turned into the final points of the game. Ginobli has been battling a foot injury.

Before Saturday's defeat, the Grizzlies had won seven of their last eight games overall and five of six against the Spurs before Saturday's defeat.
