New Orleans (17-19) at Charlotte (11-26) 1:00 pm EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) - The New Orleans Hornets can post their second three-game winning streak of the season when they visit the slumping Charlotte Bobcats on Monday.

The Hornets started their first such winning streak with a victory over the Bobcats exactly two weeks ago with a 103-86 triumph, then beat Miami two days later and Portland on January 6.

New Orleans, which has won five of its seven games in 2006, had fallen just short of three consecutive wins four times this season.

The Hornets are coming off an 86-80 win over Southwest Division rival Houston on Saturday in which Chris Paul led the way with 17 points and five assists. The 6-foot rookie will play his first professional game in North Carolina since his departure from Wake Forest last year.

High-flying Desmond Mason added 16 and six rebounds for the Hornets, who had five players score in double figures.

Charlotte, which has lost three straight games and seven of eight, looks to rebound from a 114-91 loss to Detroit on Saturday. Center Primoz Brezec led five Bobcats in double figures with 18 points.

The Hornets have won two straight in the series.
