ORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- Wally Szczerbiak looks to continue
his torrid shooting Friday when the Minnesota Timberwolves play
their final December game against the Orlando Magic.
Averaging 25 points and shooting 56 percent from the floor this
month, Szczerbiak has led the team in scoring 11 times in
December and has reached the 20-point plateau for a career-best
nine consecutive contests.
Szczerbiak scored 30 points for the third time this season and
Kevin Garnett added 26 and 10 rebounds as the Timberwolves shot
a season-high 58 percent (43-of-74) in Thursday's 108-95 win
over the Seattle SuperSonics.
Making his first career start for Minnesota, Eddie Griffin had
22 points and 12 rebounds, becoming the first player in
franchise history to have 20 points and 10 rebounds in his
starting debut.
After losing nine of 11, Orlando has won its last two contests,
including Wednesday's 105-95 triumph over the New York Knicks.
Grant Hill scored 26 points to lead six players in double
figures. Steve Francis had 17 and DeShawn Stevenson 14 for the
Magic, who shot 53 percent (38-of-72).
Orlando has won 12 of the last 16 home meetings against
Minnesota. The teams split their two encounters last season.
