Indiana is coming off a 34 percent (23-of-67) effort from the field against Dallas when only two players scored in double digits in an 84-75 loss. It bounced back in a major way, making 46-of-78 shots (59 percent), including 8-of-16 3-pointers.

The Wizards led, 30-18, at the end of the first quarter before the Pacers took control, outscoring them 32-21 with Jackson scoring 13 points in the second.

"Our team had fun tonight and we trusted each other and we're on the same page," said Jackson, who made 13-of-18 shots.

"It was a rough start with a lot going on," Indiana coach Rick Carlisle said. "But tonight, we showed real signs of a group being tied together. I'm proud of the way our guys fought back."

Rookie Sarunas Jasikevicius' layup with 9:37 remaining in the third quarter gave Indiana the lead for good at 57-55, and the Pacers scored 37 points in the period to take an 87-71 lead into the fourth.

"We're giving up too many points," Washington coach Eddie Jordan said. "We had our offense, but we didn't respond well when they attacked us."

"It was a great effort tonight," Jasikevicius said. "We kept playing as hard as we could and things didn't go well right away, but we kept on fighting. Every night you have to bring effort like this."

Jermaine O'Neal had his 10th double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds for the Pacers, who had seven blocked shots and held Washington to just 20 percent (4-of-20) from long range. Fred Jones scored 17 points on 7-of-7 from the field.

"I felt more comfortable tonight, which led to better shooting, a little quicker pace, and my rhythm and confidence," said Jones, who made a pair from the arc.

Despite playing without starters Ron Artest (wrist) and Jamaal Tinsley (quadriceps), Indiana was bolstered by Jasikevicius, who collected 12 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in his third start of the season.

"We showed some signs of being a real team tonight and if we lay it all out there every night, we can live with the results and circumstances," Carlisle said.

Antawn Jamison had 16 points and 12 rebounds and Gilbert Arenas added 17 points for Washington, which is 2-7 when an opponent scores over 100 points.

"They just made a lot of shots tonight and did a great job of executing their offense," said Wizards forward Caron Butler, who scored 14 points.
