Washington (5-3) at New Jersey (4-4) 7:30 pm EST

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) - In order for the Washington Wizards to avoid a winless road trip, they will need a rare victory at the Continental Airlines Arena on Saturday when they visit the New Jersey Nets.

Washington began its season with five wins in its first six games but has come back to earth on its road trip, dropping the first two contests by a combined 26 points.

In Thursday's 109-98 loss to Minnesota, Gilbert Arenas scored 33 points and Caron Butler chipped in 15, but Washington was outscored, 30-20, in the fourth quarter.

The Wizards look to avoid an 0-3 road trip as they try to muster a victory here, a task they have failed to complete in nine of their last 10 visits. They are 29-41 all-time in this building.

New Jersey snapped a brief two-game losing streak Tuesday with a 109-99 win against Seattle. Nenad Krstic scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Richard Jefferson and Vince Carter added 19 points apiece for the Nets, who need four more victories to reach 1,000 as a franchise.

Washington took three of four meetings between the teams last season.
