Charlotte (3-7) at Minnesota (4-4), 8:00 pm EST
MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Kevin Garnett has finally voiced his
unhappiness with Minnesota Timberwolves management, particularly
team vice president Kevin McHale. However, first-year coach
Dwane Casey hopes his superstar can channel that frustration
into wins for the Timberwolves.
On Thursday, Garnett publicly criticized McHale's leadership in
an interview with TNT following Minnesota's 109-98 triumph over
the Washington Wizards.
On Saturday, Garnett takes the floor for the first time since
those comments when the Timberwolves host the Charlotte Bobcats.
An eight-time All-Star, Garnett has been his usual dominant self
this season. The 2004 Most Valuable Player collected 25
points, 13 rebounds and nine assists on Thursday as Minnesota
held on in the fourth quarter to win for the first time in over
a week.
Since opening the season with two wins in their first three
games, the Bobcats have dropped six of their last seven.
Charlotte delivered a hard-fought effort on Friday before
ultimately coming up short in a 93-85 loss to the Indiana
Pacers.
Kareem Rush scored 20 points and Emeka Okafor added 14 and 10
rebounds for the Bobcats, who had embarrassed the Pacers with a
122-90 blowout victory on Wednesday.
Rush has been red-hot as of late, averaging 18 points over his
last five games including a 35-point performance on Wednesday.
