Memphis (5-3) at Phoenix (3-3), 9:00 pm EST
PHOENIX (Ticker) -- The Memphis Grizzlies will be looking to
exact some revenge on the struggling Phoenix Suns when the two
meet Wednesday at the America West Arena.
The Suns, who finished the regular season with an NBA-best 62-20
mark, swept the Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs en
route to the Western Conference finals. Things are much
different for Phoenix this season, however.
Playing without Amare Stoudemire, who will be sidelined until at
least February as he recovers from knee surgery, the Suns have
gotten off to a lackluster start.
Phoenix, which is 1-3 at home, did not lose its fourth game last
season until December 28 and had not dropped four in its own
building until January 21.
The Suns picked up their first home win Sunday with a 101-86
triumph over Golden State. Shawn Marion collected 22 points and
15 rebounds while Steve Nash added 18 points and 10 assists.
Memphis, which is opening a three-game road trip Wednesday, is
coming off a dominating 85-73 win against the Los Angeles
Lakers. Pau Gasol collected 20 points, 10 rebounds and four
blocks for the Grizzlies, who led, 75-47, after three quarters.
Phoenix and Memphis split their four regular-season meetings in
2004-05, with each team winning once on the other's home floor.
