Denver (3-4) at Dallas (4-2), 8:30 pm EST
DALLAS (Ticker) -- Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks open a
four-game homestand Tuesday when they host the Denver Nuggets.
Despite suffering from back spasms, Nowitzki scored 30 points
and shot 5-of-9 from the arc on Friday as the Mavericks edged
the New Orleans Hornets, 109-103, on Saturday.
Jason Terry scored 26 points and Keith Van Horn added 15 off the
bench for Dallas, which has played five of its first six games
this season away from American Airlines Center.
Denver, which is winless in three road contests this season,
hopes to carry some momentum from its 102-91 victory over the
Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday.
Marcus Camby collected 18 points and an NBA season-high 22
rebounds for the Nuggets, who have outrebounded their opponents
this season by nearly seven per game.
Denver forward Kenyon Martin missed Sunday's contest with
soreness in his left knee, and his status for Tuesday's game is
uncertain.
Martin's injury is just the latest in a list of ailments this
year for the Nuggets, who have not won here since January 31,
2004. Fourth-year big man Nene was lost for the remainder of
the season when he tore all three ligaments in his left knee on
Opening Night.
Denver, which is shooting a league-worst 22 percent from the
arc, also has missed the services of sharpshooting veteran
swingman Bryon Russell, who has been sidelined with a torn right
meniscus.
