Memphis (3-1) at Boston (1-2), 7:30 pm EST

BOSTON (Ticker) -- The Memphis Grizzlies may not be the team the Boston Celtics want to see right now.

Losers of back-to-back heartbreakers, the Celtics open a three-game homestand when they host the surging Grizzlies on Wednesday at TD Banknorth Garden.

Memphis begins a string of three straight games on the road with a three-game winning streak on the line, including an impressive rout of Seattle at home Tuesday.

Shane Battier and Pau Gasol scored 20 points apiece and helped limit the SuperSonics to 33 percent (23-of-70) shooting in a 94-69 victory.

Battier took over in the third quarter, when he shot 6-of-6 and the Grizzlies outscored the Sonics, 27-14. Seattle never scored fewer than 73 points last season.

Boston has been involved in three nailbiters to start the season, winning their opener in overtime over New York, losing on a last-second shot to Detroit and falling in OT at Charlotte on Saturday.

Paul Pierce scored 32 points and Ricky Davis added 21 but the Celtics against failed to hold a lead down the stretch, losing a 10-point advantage in the final 3:38 of regulation.

Boston shot 1-of-12 in OT to lose its first game to Charlotte.

The Celtics have split the last eight meetings with the Grizzlies here.
