Orlando (0-2) at Washington (2-0), 7:00 pm EST
WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- The Washington Wizards can get off to
their best start in 27 years when they host the Orlando Magic
on Saturday.
The Wizards have not started 3-0 since the 1978-79 season -
the last time the franchise reached the NBA Finals.
Washington was carried by its All-Stars in Friday's 86-75
triumph at New York. Gilbert Arenas scored 11 of his 27
points in the first quarter as the Wizards built a 32-13
advantage. Antawn Jamison scored 11 of his 20 in the fourth
period to thwart the Knicks' comeback efforts.
Caron Butler, who signed a five-year contract extension with
Washington on Monday, did not suit up because of a left thigh
contusion.
Embarking on its first road trip of the season, Orlando is off
to its first 0-2 start since the 1990-91, campaign when the
team began the season 0-6.
The Magic lost to Memphis, 94-85, on Friday. Steve Francis
scored 22 points on 9-of-17 shooting, but he missed all four
of his shots from the arc as the team finished just 1-of-10
from 3-point range.
Orlando and Washington split four meetings last season, with
each team winning once on the other's homecourt.
