PHOENIX, Oct. 27 (Ticker) -- Shawn Marion and the Phoenix Suns showed that they are ready to play games that count.

Marion scored 22 points and Steve Nash added 14 and nine assists to lead the Suns to a 97-92 victory over the Golden State Warriors in the preseason finale for both teams.

NBA TV highlights from
James Jones chipped in with 21 points and six rebounds while Kurt Thomas grabbed 11 boards for Phoenix, which finished with a 6-2 preseason record.

The Suns - who open their regular-season schedule Tuesday against the Dallas Mavericks - owned a 91-86 lead with 2:29 remaining, but Baron Davis drilled a pair of 3-pointers over the next 90 seconds to give the Warriors a one-point lead.

On Davis' second long-range bomb, however, Phoenix's Raja Bell was fouled underneath the basket. Golden State was in the penalty at the time, and Bell converted both free throws to give the Suns a 93-92 lead.

Still trailing by one, the Warriors got the ball back with 22 seconds remaining, but Davis made an ill-advised turnover. Jones drilled a pair of free throws nine seconds later to ice the win for the Suns, who outrebounded the Warriors, 55-38.

Jason Richardson scored 22 points and Davis added 14 and eight assists for Golden State, which hosts Atlanta in its season opener on Wednesday.
